As if we needed anymore proof of Ron Paul’s anti-American treachery — and no, I am not speaking of his inclusion in the Democrats’ list of favorite Republicans (though it’s also quite telling), — he’s finally waded into the Ground Zero mosque controversy where — unsurprisingly — he’s chalked it all up to yet another conspiracy theory, fomented by those war-lovin’ neo-cons:
“I think it’s a big distraction, a grand distraction from the real issues… To me it should have been a grand opportunity, and you really touched on the opportunity, because it’s really a property rights issue, and who owns the property? And it’s also a civil liberties issue. It’s a freedom of speech issue… Property rights and civil rights are one and the same… drives the neo-cons nuts… I don’t believe for a minute that the, quote, religion of Islam is our enemy.”
Really, Ron? And I suppose Al-Qaeda is just a CIA fantasy, too?
For the record, the majority of Americans and politicians who oppose the mosque fully understand the constitutional right to build it. Then again, most of us also understand that Islam is a strident political ideology wrapped up in the cloak of religion, and that jihadists committed an act of war against the United States on September 11, 2001 — not the United States government — all in the name of Islam. Further, understanding the history of Cordoba, we are cognizant of the fact that such a mosque is nothing short of a monument to their bloody victory over the “Great Satan” and 3,000 of its citizens on 9/11.
I know its tough for you libertarians — much like your foreign policy kindred spirits, liberals — to place a moral judgment on anything, but out of respect for 9/11′s grieving families, it would be nice if you’d grant them some deference on this emotionally supercharged, morally reprehensible issue. It would also be refreshing if you’d actually give your country the benefit of the doubt, instead of blaming it for the existence of a so-called religion that preaches death to infidels, practices pedophilia, commits unspeakable crimes against women, and actively engages in a worldwide, genocidal movement with the ultimate goal of imposing a worldwide Muslim Caliphate.
In short, since you’re so fond of conspiracy theories, maybe you can believe in one that’s actually true: Global Jihad. Then temper your constitutional remarks about the Ground Zero mosque with some intelligence and real compassion for your own countrymen — especially those who lost everything on 9/11.

Most libertarians - and even many conservatives - believe a nation can stand if its laws/mores/principles are merely neutral. Go figure.

•As a child Barry was enrolled in school as a Muslim in Jakarta Indonesia.
•Barack Hussein 0bama’s first and middle names are Arabic Muslim names.
•0bama recited the opening lines of the Muslim call to prayer, which includes a vow of fidelity to Islam, in flawless Arabic on a radio program. - Nikolos Kristoff, NYTs, 3-06-07
•On that same program he said he thinks the call to prayer is “one of the prettiest sounds on earth.”
•0bama belonged to Rev. Wright’s (a former Muslim) church for twenty years. Many congregants are Muslims.
•0bama said that the U.S. is “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.”
•0bama holds Muslim celebrations in the WH but canceled the National Day of Prayer.
•President 0bama’s religious adviser, Eboo Patel, once deemed the United States “the ideal place for the renewal of Islam.”
•0bama does not give gifts on Christmas.
•0bama doesn’t celebrate his birthday.
•0bama falsely attributes Muslim participation in the founding of America.
•0bama required that the cross be covered when he gave a speech at Notre Dame.
•Christian symbol covered up during Obama’s Georgetown speech
•0bama’s first major speech in office was a “Muslim outreach” speech in Cairo Egypt.
•“The American President told me in confidence that he is a Muslim,” said Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Nile TV.
•0bama gave strong support to the Cordoba House community center and mosque to be built at the Ground Zero site of Sep. 11, 2001 at a dinner celebrating the day’s end of the first day of Ramadan at the WH.
•0bama tasked NASA with a mission of “Muslim outreach.”
•0bama referred to his faith as “my Muslim faith” in an interview with George Stephanopolous.
A number of leaders who profess to follow Islam have actually been steadfast friends of the West. Including the last Shah of Iran and the guy on my Freeper profile page.

Hey Ronny! I have a secret to tell you. Islam is far more than a religion. It is a violent political ideology with it’s own laws and court system. Religion is only one component and is used to impose islam on non muslim societies. Islam is anathema to the U.S. Constitution! The two cannot coexist in the U.S.! The Ground Zero mosque is their in your face way of saying they want to replace the Constitution with Sharia Law! Get a clue Paul!

I had almost talked myself into believing that RP would be an acceptable candidate for conservatives in 2012. I am glad he made this statement now so I can write him off early on.
The religion itself may not be, Congressman, but there are more than a few of its adherents who think it is and act accordingly.
