Biden Hails Credit Score (Asks Pizza Shop Owner "How in God's name did you get credit?")

Since practically Day One of the Obama administration, there's been a crystal clear message: Credit lines have to loosen in order to improve the economy.

"It's a recovery that will be measured by whether families and entrepreneurs can get the loans they need," President Barack Obama said in 2009."That's why we're freeing up credit that's frozen with a program that supports the market for more car loans, and student loans, and small business loans; and with a plan that will partner government resources with private investment to break the logjam that is currently preventing our banks from lending money to even the most creditworthy customers."

But in one of Vice President Joe Biden's frequent casual moments, he joked about just how tight credit lines still are 19 months later.(continued)

My question to the pizza store owner is, “Why in God’s name are you participating in an Obama administration event?” The guy went to 20 banks before he found one that would give him a loan to expand his business. He’s obviously not a liberal or he would have given up at two or three.

What Vice-Premier “Bite Me” and Premier Hussein simply do not get, is that businesses need CUSTOMERS, not JUST more borrowing no matter how low the rate is. With unemployment stuck at 10%, the customer base for these business, people who normally buy the goods and services, continues to shrink.

If this fellow shopped 20 different banks, that tells me he had to polish up his business plan for that third store before he satisfied the underwriter, and there is nothing whatsoever wrong with that. We have to weed out the non-performers and make sure the banks are really lending to people with the means to pay off the loan.

There is still plenty of credit available to those who did not use their homes and businesses like ATM machines and actually do live within their means. “Bite Me” doesn’t get that because he has never been anything other than a professional politician, and like Premier Hussein himself, has never run so much as a lemonade stand.
