The AFL-CIO and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) recently announced that they will spend a combined $88 million during this years election cycle. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) plans to spend about $50 million.
Organized labors enormous war chests are largely derived from member duesmoney that is deducted from workers paychecks and sent directly to the representing union. While some states have enacted paycheck protection laws that allow a worker to decide whether or not his dues are used for political purposes, a majority of states give workers no choice in how their dues are spent...

Buy everybody off?....I’ll take your money but I’ll still vote teaparty!
Aren't these and other cabals...er.. "unions" the ones crying to the regime that the taxpayers needed to bail out their retirement funds?
Government employees taking tax money to sucker people to vote for more taxes for government employees. This should be illegal. Government unions should be outlawed or not allowed to vote.
With an abnormally high number of seats in play, the regime and its thug unions are going to need every penny of that $88M.
And there is probably going to be a tax on it...
Many union members are opposed to their dues going to support political parties, political candidates, and political policies they don't agree with. It will be interesting to see how many union members will be willing to oppose the thugs who pose as their "union leaders" to try to end this practice.
This, in fact, is a prospect that I don't think we have ever discussed or considered here.
I think public sector unions should be outlawed. Why should my tax dollars go to support some worthless paper pusher so they can pay dues that goes to support RATS?
The GOP (gutless old pukes) have not done squat to rid us of this vermin. Now they are getting rich off the taxpayer and living like kings while someone like my husband works 60 hour weeks, has to pay over 500 a month for our health insurance (thankfully his employers pays the bulk of it), fund his own retirement while we support these lazy no goods?
I have met individuals who were members of unions, and they were responsible citizens. Collectively and sadly many unions are indeed run by slick bosses who do not reflect the personal values of their member. And that is sad.
As have I. Not all union members are leftist thugs, some just have no choice if they want to work. That's why I posted what I did.
You would think the union members would be screaming bloody murder about spending $88 million of their union dues this way.
