Since persecutor - er prosecutor Fitzgerald bombed so badly in the recent Blago trial, maybe Scooter feels somewhat vindicated and able to appear in public once again.....
I never understood why he was not pardoned.
Nor I, and if what I've read is true, it was one of the few things Pres. Bush and VP Cheney disagreed on.
I heard some of the interview...what an articulate intelligent nice guy......and no bitterness despite his career being destroyed by the Witch Hunt of the Wilsons!
I loved it when Monica said had she been president, he would have been given him a pardon.
Correction, there where no imaginings involved here. It was a vicious, premeditated attack upon a political target, the White House, under the color of law. The so-called prosecutor should be in jail for unlawful and deliberate misuse of the office.

I thought it was weak that BOR threw this to Monica and did not do this himself. I got the impression he needed the insulation so his Upper East Side lib friends would still invite him to cocktail parties.

Let’s remember, this guy was Marc Rich’s attorney, yes the same guy that Bill Clinton gave a pardon to without ever serving a day in prison or being put on trial.
I couldn’t agree more about Fitz, but would add that Colin Powell needs to be in jail for treason for letting the nation, the White House and our kids fighting abroad dangle in the breeze being vilified while he knew all along it was his deputy Armitage who spoke to Novak. Fitzy knew this before the investigation even started but continued until he had his pound of flesh.
Add to it that Powell told Armitage not to tell anyone else as well. He was totally complicit in the kangaroo trial and let it happen anyway, as did Novak.

Fitzie knew from the beginning it was not Scooter - but instead it was Colin Powell’s undersecretary.
And .. I have always believed the whole thing was Colin Powell’s payback to Bush for not listening to Colin re Iraq - and instead listening to Cheney.
Although I don't know if Scooter is still pursuing an appeal, he was at the time. He wanted to clear his name. Scooter did not apply for a pardon. If President Bush had pardoned him, Scooter's appeal(s) would have ended without his having the opportunity to clear his name. I think time just ran out on all of them.

That makes sense. It’s still a shame that his name was besmirched the way it was, costing him his job and all that money. What’s even more infuriating is that all that of it was unnecessary. Fitzgerald knew day 2 who had talked about the CIA agents. He did not/should not have continued. I wonder who was pulling Fitzgerald’s strings?
