WMD Found in Iraq According to the latest batch of Wikileak documents. In particular, coalition troops kept coming across numerous artillery shells filled with mustard gas.
Remember the terms of Section 8 of UN resolution 687 that ended the first Gulf War:
Iraq shall unconditionally accept the destruction, removal, or rendering harmless, under international supervision, of:
(a) All chemical and biological weapons and all stocks of agents and all related subsystems and components and all research, development, support and manufacturing facilities
Thus the instance of a single chemical weapon in Iraq violates the terms that ended the Gulf War, and thus the decision by George W. Bush to carry out the liberation of Iraq in 2003 was both legal and justifiable. (This is in addition to the other numerous instances of jus ad bellum cited by Bush in his speech on that reasons behind that decision.)
Liberals, look at yourself in the nearest mirror and repeat after me: George W. Bush was right and I was wrong. George W. Bush was right and I was wrong.
Exactly. The big question here is WHY? Everyone knew there ere WMD but it was downplayed and Bush became the big bad boogieman. As a result, we now have Soros' puppet in the WH and the RATS are running wild.
During the middle of Bush's term, he acted like he'd had an evasion of the body snatchers. WHY?
The GOP handed the election to the RATS on a silver platter. WHY?
Like this story: Deadly chemicals are found dumped in river, reported by NBC's Dr. Bob Arnot, and then scrubbed down the memory hole.

There were pictures of various WMDs on the web at the time.
There was also that interview with Powell and the video of that caravan of trucks hauling something to Syria.
WMD bookmark.
And a scud missile left on the streets of Baghdad.
And all the stuff buried in scientists and government officals' backyards.
And what about all the masks, suits, medicines, etc. found in the bunkers. Of course there were WMD.
Told ya so!! OIF vet
“We know the reason now for the intelligence failure ...Saddam Hussein himself.”
Or those trucks leaving for Syria had them?
bgill—boy, how I wish I knew the answer to that. I’ve asked that question over and over, and never received a satisfactory answer. Usually it’s something like “national security” but honestly, that one makes no sense.
And don’t forget the entire underground nuclear city in the middle of the desert. Years later, an article appears that they shipped a ton (or more than one?) of nuclear material secretly to the US.
But of course, no WMD in Iraq.
“Bush had the annoying habit of doing what was the best for the nation rather than what was best for himself politically.”
That’s what I think. He had to know what was going on. I believe it was better to get the weapons out of Iraq and stashed somewhere where they could be monitored or destroyed then to say they were there and Al Queada use that for propoganda. (I think they got destroyed in Russia with their WMD)
Imagine if Al Queada said that they got hold of one of Saddam’s WMD?
The entire situation was volatile, and Bush/Rumsfeld/Powell had to learn as they went along. What if there was a behind the scene deal to use Russia to move the WMD for whatever reason? It couldn’t be publicly revealed.
Sometimes you just have to trust the judgement of your leader. That’s why elections are so important.
” Usually its something like national security but honestly, that one makes no sense. “
Here’s a speculation —
The revelation of the full WMD story would have revealed facts that would have constituted ‘casus belli’ against Russia (remember the reports - since swept under the rug and lost - in the runup to OIF that a batallion of Russian Special Forces were escorting convoys to Syria??) and China...
There is a possiblilty that the Bush Administration was subjected to nuclear and economic blackmail from our erstwhile ‘allies’, if the subject of WMD wasn’t dropped....
/speculation
The entire media was in an uproar about the secret weapons Saddam was hiding outside Bagdad. But somehow they forget the alarm THEY sounded.
I question whether this was “best for the nation” in the first place. He opened himself up for vilification, and made it easy for a poser like Obama to come along and do untold damage to the country. The truth might have been a better policy in this case.
fyi
Elections go in cycles. I actually think GWB did the right thing in keeping this under wraps. And, there are times when you just allow the truth to set you free without having to always defend yourself. This is the road our President took.
The media was out to get Bush for everything, and this is just another incident where they will be shown to have a liberal bias. Thus, hurting their credibility even more.
It’ll all come out in the wash, as they say.
Bush was the President we needed at the time, and thank God Al Gore wasn’t in office.
Whether he defended himself or not, the media would’ve had their talking points just the same. I can’t believe that people still believe what they hear in the lamestream media. They’re no better than our liar-in-chief, in fact, they’re one in the same.
However, there is a higher power they will answer to one of these days. And, that includes zero.
Maybe. Unfortunately, no one gets an accurate crystal ball issued with the job.
You should see the look on leftist faces when I tell them that everyone knows there were WMD found in Iraq.
