Mark Kirk Might Vote for Disclose Act

Here we go again.  The same vicious cycle seems to repeat itself ad nauseum.  We become all excited about the prospects of picking up Senate seats during the election.  Then, within a few days these RINOs return to their old ways.  The Hill is reporting that Mark Kirk is considering whether to vote with the Democrats and support the unconstitutional Disclose Act.  Even though he voted against this particular bill while he was in the House, he is showing willingness to sell himself out to liberal special interest groups that are pressuring RINOs to support this legislation.  Here is what Kirk had to say for himself:

“Federal candidates should disclose all of their campaign contributions within 24 hours on the Internet. I hope we can get that done in the next Senate and Congress. Also, for all of these outside groups we don’t want to silence any political voice ... we should have them disclose all of their donors, both from the left and the right.”

The Hill further notes, that these liberal advocacy groups will be pressuring Lisa Murkowski to support the Disclose Act.  There is no doubt in my mind that if she ultimately returns to the Senate, she will take revenge against Republicans and support much of the signature legislation of the left.  There is very little hope for Senate Republicans, even after last week's gains.  The House is where we need to make our stand.  This all brings me back to my favorite cartoon that my wife illustrated in honor of our Senate Republicans.

Ah, but RINOs only vote with Democrats when Democrats really, really, really, really, really need their vote.

80% or 90% of the time they vote with us.

You’ll take 80-90%, won’t you? /s

And so it begins...

Any bets on how soon his groupies here delete their screennames? Will they try to defend him for at least four years like they did with Ahnuld?

Thanks RINOS. Good thing you didn’t vote for Christine O’Donnell.

Whatever the morons in the Senate do, they can’t force the House to go along, so all their dumb ideas, beginning with cap and trade, are dead. If Kirk votes for this, he exposes his rinoness for no reason.

Yep. Funny how it was soooooooooo important to elect a Republican in the special election to "stop Obama" in the lame duck session, except in Delaware. That seat had the SAME circumstances as Obama's seat, since Biden had vacated it and whoever won would be seated immediately after the election. Yet I don't recall any of the Kirk fans in the GOP establishment demanding everyone "get behind Christine O'Donnell" for the good of the party, and hounding those who wouldn't.

Strange, isn't it?

If their guy Mike Castle had won the primary, I bet they would have.

Of course, in the lame duck session, she will be voting whether she wins or not, because the new term doesn't start until next year.

I am proud to state that I did NOT vote for Kirk. First, I will never vote for anyone who thinks it is OK to suck the brains out of babies, because if they’re OK with that, they cannot be trusted to protect any of the lesser rights, such as liberty and property. Sorry gang, but all you fellow Illinoisans who voted for Kirk hoping against hope he’d at least be with us on the fiscal/liberty issues? You’ve been punked.

I wonder if Miller can throw a full body block by tying up the election results long enough to get us over to the new Congress before those angry lame ducks can hurt us?

I’ll file that under “things that continue to amaze.”

Yep. Kirk's little pep squad is just soooo excited that a "Republican" took "Obama's senate seat" (nevermind the fact that a conservative Republican held it before Obama had the job for 145 days). Apparently they think Obama and the Chicago machine is suffering a "huge embarrassment" from it (yeah I'm sure Obama is just sweating bullets that a socialist who agrees with him on every issue is going to repalce him in the Senate). Even the photos of Kirk and his "opponent" getting all kissy right after the election hasn't dampered their enthuesiasm.

Same reaction the "Conan the Republican is gonna terminate Democrats!!!" freepers had when Arnold replaced Gray Davis and it was supposedly a "huge blow" to the Democrats, even though Davis appeared quite happy with Arnold in his chair. Do they clone these RINO freepers? Everytime we get rid of some, more sign up to continue the cause.

You can count the mainstream media who elected Obama to that seat in the first place as perhaps the biggest Kirk groupies. Them and the liberal special interests groups who endorsed Obama/Kirk. Sierra Club must be feeling great now... electing Kirk to the seat has given them an envirowacko supporter even better than Obama!
