Dem says its wrong to celebrate Christmas if unemployment benefits not extended. On Thursdays magnificent installment of "Hardball" on MSNBC (which is barely watched by anyone
except the hardest of hardcore libs), Congressman Jim McDermott was on with Chris Matthews, making the case about unemployment benefits extension, when he brought Christianity into the mix. According to McDermott, its "simply wrong" to celebrate Christmas and some of its themes like caring about the poor
if Americans do not support extending unemployment benefits. This week was a particularly insane week on "Hardball," as earlier in the week, Democrat senator Sherrod Brown blasphemed that unemployment benefits create jobs! Clearly, "Hardball" is becoming the clearing house of low-rated, cable "news" shows where wild Democrats appear to use twisted logic to make the case for unemployment benefits extension.

Wouldn’t it be prudent to pay for them? It’s probably Christian to seek to extend help to those in need, but foolish to do so with somebody else’s money.
Then again, that’s two thoughts in a row again. I keep forgetting Democrats are constitutionally incapable of that.
sorry.
Christians have always taken care of people. It feels good to give and help. Now the government wants the credit for helping people so they take your money from you before you have a chance to give. They then take credit for the good they do with your money. You get no credit and instead of feeling good you are angry.
GFY McDermott!
Hmmm ... McDermott, Brown, Chrissie Matthews ... you like with dogs, you get ... MANGE!
Which will lead to endless sound clips about "Republicans demand that benefits for the unemployed be paid for but not tax cuts for the wealthy, blah, blah, blah." Why do you think the Democrats have timed the vote on tax cuts so close behind the defeat of unemployment extensions? They don't care either, except for the political points that they can score off it.
Oh, I know, N-S. I was just being wistful for the minute there, trying to make simple sense without bothering with political posturing or calculation. I think what blessing there is in this resides in the fact that, if it hadn't been pinged here, no one would even have known that McDermott had opened his mouth. Even the Dem hoi polloi don't pay attention, they just nod and obediently check where they're told to.
This isn’t even new, of course. This has been the project for Progressivism since the 1880’s. The idea was and is to supplant private charity so that religion as a counterweight to government could eventually be turfed out altogether. Then the cult of the state as God could be quietly installed and children taught to worship Baal.
Come to think of it, that makes the project a lot older than the 1880’s, eh? {eyeroll}
Who exactly, is stopping them from not celebrating Christmas?
Go right ahead.
Using this malignant logic of the LIBs, it would be wrong to celebrate Christmas as long as their is a LIB moonbat in any position and at any level. Can’t these assclown DIM/LIBs just go away and leave us alone? As Willie C used to say: Hey LIBs...”put some ice on it”.
What would a communist know about celebrating Christmas?????
I know one who rode out the UE benefits until they were gone. She finally went and found a job the very next week after her UE ended.
Not much of a job, but a job nonetheless. She never even attempted to find work as long as that money was being deposited to her Indiana Works debit card.
Yet she and her unemployed hubbie just spent the weekend at a casino, bought a 60" tv, a new bedroom suite for her son, and usually spend more on Christmas presents for their one teenager than I will spend for everybody combined.
If the dims were an armed force... I would volunteer for FRONT LINE DUTY in the Conservative army! Git Sum!
LLS
For those who cannot find any work in 2 years and not willing or able to move to find it, there is a different pot of money called “welfare”
Employers and still-emplopyed people have been carrying the unemployed for far too long as if they were in a temporary situation. It now appears the jobs of many unemployed folks will never come back.
Time for the State govts to man up and expand the welfare roles. We also pay taxes for that.
Why would I take anything that the Anti-Christ party has to say about Christmas seriously other than they want it destroyed?
"We don't get what we want - Christmas should be cancelled!"
That carries a lot of weight, freaks...really...
[1] And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. [2] (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) [3] And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. [4] And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) [5] To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
It was a tax day!
They are Constitutionally incapable as well....
