The Dumbest Answer in the RNC Chair Debate…And It Got The Most Applause!

While I did not get a chance to watch the whole debate last Monday, I took the time to watch it this morning on youtube.

The most applauded answer of the debate was given by Ann Wagner when asked how many guns she owned.

She answered that she just got a new gun safe for Christmas, and she has 16 guns in total including a glock and an assault rifle.

That was the dumbest answer of the debate.

My father-in-law and I do not agree on much. He is a Democrat, I’m a Republican, but he taught me a very valuable lesson.

Do not ever tell anyone how many and what kind of guns you have, and never buy a gun cabinet.

If you do, everyone will know where to find them.

I was also disgusted by Cino and Steele’s answer, which was zero.

Stupid. Telling everyone you are unarmed is probably the second dumbest thing to do.

Hey, but now every knows exactly where to get an assault rifle.

What is also maddening is the fact that the whole place erupted in applause. The Republican Party of non-thinkers?

Preibus and Anuzis answered the question better by just giving a number, but I would have liked to see an answer like the one my father in law gives.

“Oh, I don’t know…..” which means, none of your business.

I know for a fact that the Marine Corp has a bunch of really nice guns including some really nice fully automatic assault weapons.

For some reason though, I'm not planning to break into the nearest Marine base and try to steal any even though I know they have them.

It's not that I'm afraid, I've just been really busy

You guys have REAL guns? Jeez, I thought all this talk about guns was theoretical! No, I don’t have any guns. Too dangerous.

BTW, most thefts of guns are when the owners are not home. A gun safe is to protect them when you aren’t home.

Your father-in-law or somebody should explain to you the difference between a gun cabinet and a gun safe.

It can be as great as that between the coin purse you carry and the vault down at my bank.

Michael Steele provided the dumbest answer in the debate when you said his favorite book was “War and Peace” and then quotes “Tale of Two Cities.”

You do know, don’t you, that there is an immense difference between a gun safe and a gun cabinet?

You know, I wouldn’t feel very safe if my weapons were locked up in a gun safe. The burglars can’t get them but niether can you. My carry piece stays by my side 24-7. A 12GA is usually to hand also.

The Republicans are so out of step. Smart FReepers know that the appropriate answer is that “I had a bunch of really nice ones until the unfortunate boating accident.”

Now that I’m getting older, I can’t really carry around more than 5 or 6 at a time any more.

I do feel comfortable with having my most valuable guns and other stuff secured in a 1,000-lb. safe. I too have carry my concealed guns with me 24/7. And the good ole shotgun remains right beside the bed.
