The Left and its handmaidens the gaggle of talking heads on MSNBC/CNN/ABC/CBS/NBC and their allied printed versions, namely the The Washington Compost, Slime and Newspeak magazines, etc. have been rather harsh on Sarah Palin this past week after she went public in a 7-minute video segment on Facebook, defending herself against the Lefts accusations that she was the actual perpetrator (along with Rush, Beck, Hannity and anyone else who didnt vote for Obama) behind the cue-ball-headed madman who opened fire on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and several other innocents on Saturday, 01/08/2011.
How dare Sarah Palin defend herself against unsubstantiated attacks! Doesnt that stupid woman who Tina Fey claims can see Russia from her kitchen window know that her conservative politics made Loughner, the pot-smoking, anti-social, apolitical misfit who thought Bush was behind the 9-11 attacks plan his gun-spree on Giffords and her constituents?
In a long string of efforts by the media and celebrities to marginalize Sarah Palin, Tina Feys skit in which Palin claims to be able to see Russia from her kitchen window was just one of many such efforts. Obviously, Fey misread Palins original remarks with Charlie Gibson.
PALIN: Theyre (Russias) our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.
GIBSON: What insight does that give you into what theyre doing in Georgia?
PALIN: Well, Im giving you that perspective of how small our world is and how important it is that we work with our allies to keep good relation with all of these countries, especially Russia.
Only 2 miles of waterway separate Russia and Alaska known as the Bering Strait, and here it is in fact possible to see one country from the other. However, that was not even her original point which, of course, was conveniently buried in the ensuing hilarity.
Obviously, Ms. Palin wasnt as off-base as Ms. Feys lack of geography lessons would have you believe.
On to the blood libel issue the Left was shocked and aghast that a woman like Sarah Palin would even know what the term blood libel meant, let alone use it. Only sophisticated East Coast elites (and those West Coast wanna-bes) should know the nuances of the meaning of blood libel and obviously, Sarah Palin could be no such initiate.
After Sarahs video and after the medias sudden call to civility after unfortunately discovering that in fact Loughner was not a Right-wing radio listener, Tennessee Democrat Representative Steve Cohen compared Republicans to Nazis for wanting to repeal Obamacare on Tuesday, 01/18/2011.
They [Republicans] say its a government takeover of health care, a big lie just like Goebbels. You say it enough, you repeat the lie, you repeat the lie, and eventually, people believe it. Like blood libel. Thats the same kind of thing, blood libel. Thats the same kind of thing, Cohen said.
Considering that the Nazis did have universal, government healthcare like the Democrats want us to have, its ironic that hes calling the Republicans Nazis and not the Democrats. Regardless, like Sarah Palin, Cohen used the term blood libel, and the media were fine with that. Sarah Palin used the same term, and journalists and liberal pundits promptly wet their collective Depends in indignation, absolutely certain that Sarah didnt know blood from libel.
The day following his reference to Republicans as Nazis, Cohen clarified his statements:
Cohen stood by comments he made on the House floor late Tuesday night in which he used a Nazi comparison to discuss Republicans who call the health care law a government takeover, but insisted he was making a point about lying, not trying to insinuate that Republicans were Nazis.
Republicans are not Nazis afterall theyre just liars! This must be an example of that new civility thing the medias been foisting on us.

Whatever will it be next, I wonder.
They knew it the first time they saw her.
It's why they go insane every time they think of her.
