I knew I was inviting a headache from the moment I saw the title. "Cairo Sunshine All Around the World" is a Huffington Post article by Raffi Cavoukian, the Egyptian-born Canadian singer who brought us "Baby Beluga" and "Bananaphone" under the mononym Raffi.
Are we witnessing the emergence of a new fundamental human right -- the right of citizens to connect via social media -- the digital right to communicate? Does any nation that disrupts or suspends the people's right to communicate by this most democratic of means thus not suspend its own legitimacy?Further on, he discovers another emergent right.
A new basic right is "the right to a future" for Earth and Child -- for both our warming planet and her children scattered on all the lands called home. The right to a viable future is like a beacon to light universal human needs and hopes in this pivotal time for civilization.Right about here is where the well-informed will recognize that Raffi is not the nut he appears to be, but a sophisticated leftist change agent. Raffi is propagating a view of "fundamental human rights" which is antithetical to the natural law upon which actual rights are based.
Let's get one thing straight. Rights do not "emerge." There is not now, nor will there ever be, a "new" right. Raffi's assertion to the contrary is an assault upon both the intellect of his readers and those rights which are apparent from the natural order.

One who is birthed in Egypt should first secure the right to not have ones head put into a burlap sack full of ones own feces for a week because he/she pissed off some local; before worrying about the right to twit. Maybe that is what this is all about.... Maybe.
Raffi sure seems to discard a lot of the details of how one gets to a free to talk and free to survive society.
Anyone who declares their commitment to your fundamental human rights intends to kill your a$$.
When one becomes inconvenient to their pea-brained vision, that is indeed all too likely.
Suckpump.
Yes, moron. It says, "Congress shall make no law". It doesn't mention digital
.

Absolutely, it does. And its leaders will hopefully suffer capital punishment if they don't make it to the airport in time! LOL! There is no bag limit on illegitimate rulers!!
He may be Egyptian born...but his family obviously hails from Armenia.
