As Wisconsin union workers continue to protest Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s budget proposal, Organizing for America — the Democratic National Committee’s campaign arm housed at BarackObama.com — is “mobilizing to defend Wisconsin‘s public employees’ right to organize.”

During his Wednesday broadcast, conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh condemned the outspoken protesters for shutting down the work of democratically elected representatives doing the “people’s business.”

Building on the momentum in Wisconsin, OFA has also started to mobilize its army of followers in Ohio and Indiana where measures similar to Gov. Walker’s are taking shape.

On Thursday, an estimated crowd of more than 1,000 descended on the Ohio statehouse in Columbus to march in favor of state workers’ collective-bargaining privileges. According to one report from the Huffington Post, organizing efforts in Ohio are “about a week behind that in Wisconsin.”

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker on Friday fired back at President Obama who has accused the Republican governor of unleashing "an assault" on unions by pressing legislation that would end collective bargaining rights for public employees and sharply increase their health care and pension payments. I hope Gov. Walker hangs tough and breaks the union. Reagan broke PATCO and it set the tone for his presidency. If Gov. Walker can break the greedy teachers and public employees union, it will cause a ripple effect across the country in states with Republican controlled State Houses and Governorships. The time to break the greedy public sector employees is NOW!

Organizing for America is having a meeting at the Appleton public library on Monday night. As I understand it, all meetings at the public library must be open to the public. Anyone in the Appleton area on Monday night could drop in and see what they’re up to.

This is a watershed moment in a blue state for the whole country. Win here and it sets the tone in Ohio, Florida and all states that unlike the US Federal Government they must deal with it and not kick it down the road.

The war is starting. King Obama is going to get his as@ kicked as a result of States actions against the Federal Control of its people. This is the best chance those Republican States have to put the Feds in their place and if the States do not take advantage of it we might not have another chance.

The time to break the greedy public sector employees is NOW!

There is a need for a 3/5ths quorum ONLY for tax/appropriations bills. For bills that do not involve Wisc spending money, only a simple majority is needed for a quorum.

All the Repubs need to do is word their bills as non-appropriations bills, pass them, and send them to the Gov for signature. Bills like removing a need for the state to forward union dues is not an appropriation.

People should put pressure on the Repub senators to declare a quorum for non-fiscal bills and just start passing an agenda rapid-fire. Starting with making Wisc a right-to-work state, and passing Vermont-style no-license CCW.

IMO there’s not a damned thing wrong with union busting. The WI Gov should fire every damned one of the state employees that are involved in the sick-out protests and local governments and school districts should do the same. Folks in WI should demand it.

In 2008 Obama was campaigning. Using his OFA to encourage the shut down of schools and union activity as a president is degrading to the office. Bullying from the white house. Interceding in state matters.

Obama is encouraging anarchy — a desperate attempt to prop up his power base.
