If I had to guess the 1st one, I'd guesstimate 85%... the 2nd I'm guessing ranges from 5% to 30%,but I'd like specifics.

hunh. good luck. i know you find out who contributes how much to whom complete with a freaking google map pin on their house, but I don’t know if you’ll find much disclosure on information so privileged as that, “public record” or no.

What they do is to have a 50-50 drawing monthly, you purchase a $1.00 ticket, the drawing takes place at the monthly meeting, half the money goes to the lucky winner, half goes to the CAP council for the local. The CAP is a slush fund for the political events or candidates of choice. Always dems. I don't remember what CAP stands for, political action basically.

You are correct about it being illegal. Most unions form a committee on political education (COPE) that accepts voluntary contributions.Too many work sites put great pressure on members to contribute. In 25 years as a NYC teacher I never contributed to the COPE/UFT.The reaction ranged from anger to indifference.

However dues can be used to rent busses to take members to meet pols, attend rallies.Any rallies in NYC,teachers were given Metro Cards or busses are arranged. These come from the general UFT Fund. not COPE.

Virtually 100 % of All Public as well as Private Union Political Contributions go to Democrats. Rush quoted FDR today where he said: “ There shall Not Ever be any Government Employee Unions!” FDR was an avowed Progressive Socialist Rush likened to Marx, but Rush explained that FDR knew that Government Employee Unions would give so much power to their members that they would destroy Government thru the eventual Hatred of the Governed! Sure makes sense to me!!!!

yep- saw that FDR quote in the Examiner a few days ago.

A Dem saying that today would be labeled a “fascist” by public employees.

Most unions form a committee on political education (COPE).

The money to form and solicit for those come from Unions.

As an unwilling union member for decades, I can tell you that it's not just cash (although there are money bins of that).

There is also much in kind service given for legislative favor.

Take a look at any union newsletter, it is Democratic/socialist Community Organization at the Chicago level (provided as an in kind service).

Here in the Golden state, unions give a lot of $ (and presumably other methods of persuasion) support for state and local ballot propositions designed to fool voting citizens into transferring wealth and power to Dems as well. The union money does not always go to the Dems, it also goes to Dems' statist legislative propositions.

One also suspects union involvement in most of the vote fraud that goes on. Perhaps there's a dollar amount for each Dem vote created or saved, eh?

.

What I said is true, it is illegal to spend union dues on political candidates.

That doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

I don’t know about public unions, but I heard some one say recently, that unions contribute 90% to Dems.
I was just shredding all the Dem flyers from the last election that was 100% supported by my union.I was furious at the money spent.I was saving these flyers to bring to the next union meeting to show where our money goes.
I called the union not too long ago and said,I don’t want my money going to political parties.I am now a fee paying non-member with no rights, but oh,yeah I still have to pay dues.
