People Are Starting To Notice

Recent poll data suggest that Americans have woken up to the fact that Barack Obama is an empty suit, and the Democrats have nothing to offer in terms of policy solutions. First, President Obama.

Today's Rasmussen Reports finds that among likely voters, President Obama has matched his lowest standing ever. He now ranks at -22 on the Approval Index, defined as the difference between those who strongly approve and strongly disapprove of his performance:

[Graph]

Rasmussen also finds that the voters' preference for Republicans over Democrats is growing, as the current generic Congressional preference survey has Republicans ahead by 46-37. Oh, and 62 percent favor repeal of Obamacare, nearly the highest percentage yet recorded.

Other pollsters are finding evidence of growing pessimism among Americans. Remarkably, the ABC News/Washington Post poll finds that Americans are less confident in "our system of government and how well it works" than at any time since the question was first asked in 1974. Worse, in other words, than in the aftermath of Watergate and than at any time during the Carter administration. And, for good measure, 71 percent "report financial hardship as a result of rising gas prices." Shades of the 1970s, only worse; and we have, effectively, no president.

In polls, people tend to cast blame indiscriminately, but when they actually vote, matters are often clarified. Thus, several readers pointed out the result of an election in Dade County, where an overwhelming 88 percent voted to recall Mayor Carlos Alvarez because he raised taxes in order to fund a 3 percent increase in wages for public employees. Alvarez reportedly is the first public official to be recalled since Gray Davis, but one suspects there are more to come, and soon. Let's hope this sends a message to politicians in Wisconsin.

I ask people like my die-hard liberal idiot brother about him. Unfortunately there are many that excuse his sorry azz by saying that we don't understand his intelect. He's playing three dimensional chess. He can multitask. I know it's sick but there's a lot of that out there.

To many people in this country vote with their wallets instead of their brains or any moral convictions.

The problem is, too many people voted with someone else's wallet. The base of the democrat party vote democrat for one reason, and one reason only - because the democrats are the most effective at stealing the fruit of other peoples' labor for them. The payoff is, in essence, your paycheck and mine, all stolen and "redistributed" to the deadbeats in exchange for their (possibly multiple) votes.

‘Rasmussen also finds that the voters’ preference for Republicans over Democrats is growing,...’

Not sure why. By and large they’re an incompetent pack of spineless jellies. At the moment neither party has anything substantive to offer. There are a (very) few exceptions on the republican side but assuming they’re the norm is silly esp. in light of the budget circus. Anyone putting their hopes in a party is going to be greatly disappointed.

The only thing that has changed on the GOP side is the rise of the Tea Party. Maybe that is what the voters find appealing.

Boehner might ought to consider that the next time he feels the urge to compromise.

Who has had his head buried so deeply in the sand that he is just now starting to notice?

Good grief.

“Recent poll data suggest that Americans have woken up to the fact that Barack Obama is an empty suit...”

That is not so much the problem as the fact that he is an actively practicing, anti-American RaceMarxist. If he were JUST an empty suit, our country would be in much better shape after 2 years of this nightmare.

“...and the Democrats have nothing to offer in terms of policy solutions.”

Incorrect.

They have PLENTY to “offer” in the area of the historically documented, destructive failure known as Socialism.

And too much “evil Republican” demagoguery by the ‘Rats.

And have you noticed how well the rinos respond to such demagoguery???

Na Da!

They are a complete waste of time, however.....

Given that they do nothing....and prevent the dem/lib/prog/pops from doing anything....it could be worse!

I seriously think that many of the RINOs suffer so badly from “Potomac fever” that they have come to believe the ‘Rat propaganda themselves.

Being in the GOP is a cause of shame for some of them, apparently.

It is always and entirely true that...first and foremost....the rinos are POLITICIANS!!! They see, think, act, feel, smell, touch, and taste like POLITICIANS.

And the word "POLITICIAN" is used here in the most derogatory sense possible.
