As much as we are all praying and helping in any way we can for the suffering people of Japan, there is a lot of fear mongering in the mainstream media and politicians with personal and political agendas over the nuclear radiation threat. Let’s be clear, a nuclear meltdown or even a partial meltdown is nothing to take lightly, but it is EXTREMELY rare.

I don’t think the media is doing anything other than speculating on what might be next. Given that the progression of events since the earthquake and tsunami has been that the daily reports on the Fukushima event have been worse with each passing day it’s logical to consider those events as a progression and to wonder where that is heading.

What is more amazing to me is this strange syndrome amongst some conservatives and FReepers to apparently deny what’s happening as if it’s all perfectly fine and under control.

I can only think to call this “Nuclear Disaster Denial Syndrome”.

Well you do have a good point - meltdown has been rare - until now.

Plus we get the added goodness of ‘spent’ MOX fuel rods bruning brightly in the noonday sun.

I’m sure the engineers gave this some thought, but I thought it odd the ‘spent’ fuel bundle storage was in a pool sitting 4 stories above ground - or am I just off here?

Anyway, I hope the Japanese can get a grip on this before it goes totally to pot.

If it bleeds, it leads!

The media is just another member of the MOD Squad - Merchants Of Death - along with the Democrat Party, the NEA, Planned Parenthood and other Leftist-leaning organizations.
