The Last Gleaming: America Enters The Twilight Zone
Conservative Refocus ^ | 03/23/2011 | Barry Secrest

Posted on 03/26/2011 3:30:58 PM PDT by Barry Secrest

The headline read "European Governments Completely Puzzled About US Position On Libya." To which we could only note, at this point within our Nation, many Americans can only sympathize with the puzzled Europeans. The wide if not dizzying array of bizarre policy positions that Obama and the Democrats have consistently taken could make even a mute Shaolin Monk shriek in terrified dismay.

Even Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton has also had enough, apparently, when she intimated via the media that she would be hanging up her Department Of State riding gear and quitting public life in 2012 regardless of the President's plans, such was her seeming and utter disgust with the ongoing and beyond weird processes of concentrated Statism on parade. We truly didn't know that she had it in her, quite frankly, speaking of situational logic, but this does speak to something much larger at play than simply being perplexed at the current unseemly management.

In truth, it now seems that our Globe, along with our our Government, has traveled beyond the daunting realm of the bizarre in 2011 and this, it should be noted, is not the occasionally favored brand of bizarre either. While America finds itself at a conjunction of crises involving virtually every subject one can cough up, it becomes evident that our leadership has decided to go absolutely nuclear and tackle only the surplus supplies of their anti-depressant stash. Stubbornly insisting on evading any if not all of the difficult problems which our nation faces, by the artifice of either worsening those same problem, within a cloud of procrastination or contriving fixes that actually complicate those same problems even further.

“...or contriving fixes that actually complicate those same problems even further.”

**********************************************************

I keep going back to the following link of an old FR thread, about an even older conservative booklet called “The Revolution Was”, written in 1938 about FDR and the New Deal. It is ALL happening again - amazingly, chillingly so. Only worse.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2185147/posts

An Excerpt:

Worse outwitted were those who kept trying to make sense of the New Deal from the point of view of all that was implicit in the American scheme, charging it therefore with contradiction, fallacy, economic ignorance, and general incompetence to govern.....

Having passed this crisis, the New Deal went on from one problem to another, taking them in the proper order, according to revolutionary technic; and if the handling of one was inconsistent with the handling of another, even to the point of nullity, that was blunder in reverse.

The effect was to keep people excited about one thing at a time, and divided, while steadily through all the uproar of outrage and confusion a certain end, held constantly in view, was pursued by main intention.

The end held constantly in view was power.

Oh please. And this from a supposedly "conservative" source? The whole country, right, left and otherwise, has turned into crawling, bootlicking apologists for that hag from hell.

Even Hillary herself claimed there was no difference between her and Obama's policies during their campaigns. And she's always gloated about triangulation. So now, after two years of incessant travel as SoS, at the end of which she's literally managed to leave large chunks of the world on fire, she gets to wash her hands of her own work and blame it on Obama - and the RINOs scuttle out to back her gotesque ingenuousness.

Anyone who doesn't see that the problem with Gaddafi was that he wasn't radical enough, and that the Left is using military strike to oust him in order to use "democrcay" to elect a really radical Muslim nutjob who will openly join global jihad, isn't paying atention. And anyone who doesn't understand that such an outcome is exactly what Hillary Clinton wants and worked hard for, is a fool.

Indeed, I guess we’ll just have to react first and then think about the consequences later...kind of like passing the bill so that we’ll know what’s in it, I suppose....

That is precisely dead the f**K on!

A point I have made a number of times, we keep screwing around and trying to fix things while simultaneously screwing them up worse at the same time. The new deal and many of those programs are what we are screw”dealing” with now.

Well, it’s not too hard to figure out. Obama has the US Marines on the ground in Libya protecting ‘rebel’ forces comprised of and controlled by Al-Qaeda forces, probably based out of IRAN. It is very simple. Our false president is a Muslim hell-bent on subjugating us to Islamic doctrine and law.

If you have the time (it is a long read), that booklet from 1938 shows how it is ALL happening again. The banks, capitalism, big government, etc. Obama is following the New Deal and FDR’s template to a “t”.
