Passover recalls the bondage and suffering of Jews in Egypt and the miracle of the Exodus, but U.S. President Barack Obama says its message is reflected in Muslim uprisings.

In his annual message, prior to his third straight participation in the Passover Seder, President Obama stated, “The story of Passover…instructs each generation to remember its past, while appreciating the beauty of freedom and the responsibility it entails. This year that ancient instruction is reflected in the daily headlines as we see modern stories of social transformation and liberation unfolding in the Middle East and North Africa.”

No other people have so consistently oppressed, brutalized, and humiliated the Jews as the Muslims over the past 1,400 years.

Having constructed a link between the Arab uprisings and Chosen People's experiencing the miracles of the Creator that led them out of Egypt and towards the receiving of the Ten Commandments, the President concluded, "As Jewish families gather for this joyous celebration of freedom, let us all be thankful for the gifts that have been bestowed upon us, and let us work to alleviate the suffering, poverty, injustice, and hunger of those who are not yet free.”

For good measure, he also added the Hebrew term “Chag Samayach,” which means “Have a happy holiday.”

It isnt that hard to understand. There are historical and biblical reasons. Not that it makes it right of course. You may, however, turn inward and ask why so many Christians vote democrat and in fact are the reason why we have this jackass as a President. The US's 5 or 6 million Jews certainly did not elect him. It was the 55 % of Catholics and 40% of Protestants.

Interesting numbers, where'd you get them from? I'm Catholic and voted for McCain, as did my wife and other family members. I think the question of why so many Jews voted for and continue to defend Obama's liberalism is a legitimate one, because it's a confounding thing. He, and liberals in general, work against the interests of Israel, and Barry was a longstanding member of a profoundly anti-semitic 'church'. Not to mention that he is openly pro islam, a people who in general are rabbid anti-semites. (He praises muslims even to the degree that he commanded NASA to hail islam for their "contribution to science over the centuries").

No, you are right, it is a very legit question. The reason is that 80% of American Jews are Reform(liberal) There are historical reasons for the Reform being so lopsided in population here. But, suffice it to say, being liberal Jews, they could care less about Israel (for the most part). They have their own "temples" and try to obtain social justice through the government, not through interpersonal relations. It is the 20% that tend to be conservative (Orthodox) my me and my Jewish FReepers. The reform are JINO's Jews in name only. A generalization to be sure...but that is the jist of it.

To me it’s more hard to understand Blacks voting Democrat. It was the Democrats that held on to slavery, it was Democrats with their segregation. I have catholic family / friends that are still huge Obama supporters. I mean I am really shocked because they think Ohdumbo can do no wrong. But on the other hand, I also have two priests who are my facebook friends and they are strong conservatives.

I have have this belief that people who support Obama are going to hell. The problem is that they want to take the rest of us with them.

Outrageous, but not surprising. I am certain Obama had his legions of Israel haters lining up to write the speech (including the evil Samantha Power).

However, some glimmer of hope here. Obama hates the Jews, Israel, and the God of Abraham. But, let's remember what God did to Pharoh:

"The LORD said to Moses, “When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go."Exodus 4:21

I think it is encouraging to remember that God is in control. Even when evil leaders like Pharaoh and Obama think they are running the show, God is the one who is in charge.

Let Obama spew his venom. Let him castigate God's chosen people and Israel (where HE Himself led them and gave to them).

Obama and his henchmen will feel God's wrath, and I almost pity them.
