Donald Trump's "birther" comments are no joke for Jerry Seinfeld.
The 56-year-old comedian has canceled his appearance at a benefit for Donald Trumps Eric Trump Foundation because the real estate mogul has been questioning whether President Obama was born in America.
(VIDEO AT LINK)
Seinfeld was expected to attend the September 13 event benefiting St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, but his rep tells CNN that Seinfeld has indeed pulled out of the engagement because of the remarks Trump has been making about the President.
Trump responded to Seinfelds move with a letter, writing, "I just learned you canceled a show for my son's charity, The Eric Trump Foundation, which benefits the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (children with cancer) because of the fact that you think I am being very aggressive with respect to President Obama, who is doing an absolutely terrible job as our leader - just look at Libya, our economy, gas, food, and clothing prices and maybe you will understand what is going on!"
Its not so much that Seinfeld pulled out of the benefit, Trump goes on, although the children of St. Jude are very disappointed" and "Bret Michaels, disgusted by what happened, is taking over."
"What I do feel badly about is that I agreed to do, and did, your failed show, 'The Marriage Ref,' even though I thought it was absolutely terrible, Trump wrote. Despite its poor ratings, I didn't cancel on you like you canceled on my son and St. Jude. I only wish I did."
Seinfeld had agreed to do the benefit back in January, but according to his manager, he became increasingly uncomfortable with Trumps questioning of Obamas citizenship.....

"Bret Michaels, disgusted by what happened, is taking over." That's gotta hurt. A has-been comic who ain't that funny being replaced by a has-been glam metal and Johnny-Come-Lately wannabe country singer.
Granted, I have more respect for Bret than Jerry could ever dream of. At least he's a patriot. Plus, I have a soft spot for that type of music.

Shallow, selfish and petty. I guess he wasn’t really acting.

I can’t recall ever seeing a black on Seinfeld’s show.

BTW, since this is “The Eric Trump Foundation” - did Eric Trump himself have childhood cancer?
Just wondering.

It was stupid of Seinfeld to make it known WHY he was canceling (publicly). Trump acts like a brat in return, but he always does, and this time I agree with him.

Well, further down in the article, it does quote his manager about
making a contribution to both the charity and the St. Jude's.
Still, I shall be avoiding all things "Jerry Seinfeld" in the future.

"Bret Michaels, disgusted by what happened, is taking over."
Bret Michaels having Type I diabetes since childhood... I can see how he has a heart for the children's fundraiser... Go Bret! I was not a big fan of Poison, but it I was a "heavy metaler" in my day.
It is interesting that the "rockers" are the ones that are getting it, politically speaking--myself included...
Bret can now join the ranks of the politically outspoken conservative rockers, in the like of Ted Nugent, Ronnie James Dio, Alice Cooper, Dave Mustaine (my favorite--"Peace Sell But Who's Buying!"do-do-doon-do), Gene Simmons, Joe Perry and Sammy Hagar to name a few... Maybe we should do a rockers benefit concert for the restoration of America's constitutional foundations of how to run our power sprung and out of control, commie-loving government!
Screw the yippie, self-loathing liberal drone comedians and actors!
It would be most appropriate for the rockers to restore America... "Surfers rule the beach and sands, cholos rule the taco stands, but rockers rule the whole (four letter word'ing) land!!!
Check out these lyrics from Overkill's 80's hit:
In Union We Stand
From the islands to the cities, from the ports into the sea.
We are strong, we will always be...
Blazing through the wreckage, burning all we see...
The life we lead, committed to be free...
Our union is a fortress!
Together we are bound.
A common bound in freedom, and in sound!!!
So raise your voices high!
For miles around to hear.
Let them know, we are drawing near...
In union we stand,
As they! blaze across the land!!!
In union, we make a final stand...
A peaceful co-existance, is droping out of sight.
So band together, together we will fight.
Blasting the resistance, marching to the top.
They started this, we say when it stops.
Strike fear within their hearts!
Strike down those in your way.
Let them know, that we live, today!!!
They throw us into flames,
Did not hear our cries.
But now, from the ashes we arise...
We got it then... we get it now!!!!

I smell a Mrs Seinfeld at the root of this.
Now that you mention it, I'm thinking the former Mrs. Larry David.
Perhaps the sick kids use more than one sheet of tp?

Bad is an adjective (describing a noun) and badly is an adverb (describes a verb). Since the word is describing the verb feel why would his choice of words be wrong? Just asking, I’m not an expert on grammar.

This actually saves everyone at the benefit from an recycled humorless whiny diatribe.

I did forget about “Johhny Cochran”, but there’s the marathon runner that oversleeps, and just caught the end of one where Elaine calls the black waitress “sister”.

Wouldn’t it have made more sense for him to do the show but ad lib a bit about Trump’s Obama comments? Then he’d have gotten credit for keeping his word AND pleased the left by dissing The Donald to his face. (Headline: Trumping Trump)

Screw the yippie, self-loathing liberal drone comedians and actors! Add Garth Brooks to that list :
Yeah, I think what President Obama is finding out is all that we want to do, the system kind of doesn't allow the most powerful guy in the world to kind of do his job and I'm sure nobody's more frustrated than him to complete those promises that he did and I think he's trying his heart out. I love him to death and I fully support him and I just wish him well because it's got to be hell in that office
