A major question lingers unanswered at the center of this story: Why was bin Laden killed? Michael Scherer has reported that the Navy Seals who landed at Osama bin Laden’s safehouse were not given orders specifically to kill, but were on a “kill or capture” mission. That implies they were prepared to accept bin Laden’s surrender. It didn’t work out that way. But despite earlier reports to the contrary, including from White House counter-terror adviser John Brennan, Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters Tuesday that bin Laden was in fact unarmed. (“Resistance does not require a firearm,” he said.) So, what happened?

Jay Carney, White House spokesman, clearly stated today that there was a firefight. More than once I think. What is the truth? These boys can’t get even the small things straight.
Do you actually expect us to take an article written for Time/CNN seriously.
I think NOT.
But, having made such a decision, it is imperative to our foreign policy that the Administration get its story straight. The story is jumbled and confused, with different stories by different people, and the same people giving different stories at different times.
Our enemies will exploit the Administration's confusion, and portray our US Navy Seal heroes as hit men and assassins, and our Government as cowardly buffoons.
The moral advantage we have over the terrorists will be muddled, and our propaganda advantage turned against us.
A. As far as I’m concerned, that had to shoot him. What are they going to do, bring him back to NYC, have Eric Holder read him his Miranda rights, have a trial that lasts for five years, and let him off on a technicality? While the Muzzie terrorists attack NYC ten different ways?
B. As far as Time Magazine is concerned, I’m glad they are asking these questions. Obama aches to be seen as a hero by his supporters. The more doubt there is among these leftist dingbats, the better.
Time for the UN to send in investigators, and see how Obama handles THAT. Bush would have just told them to get stuffed. But Obama will take at least 9 months to make up his mind how to respond.
So far ZERO evidence has been presented by the Soetoro regime that ANY of this has happened, and until evidence IS presented, my only conclusion is this is once again another scam perpetrated by Mr. Soetoro to draw attention away from himself. I can imagine it was getting awfully hot in the WH with Mr. Trump constantly breathing down the back of our first foreign born Islamic posing as a US President, so what to do? Hey I know! A miracle has happened! We found Hitler hiding out in Graceland! And we....we..we killed him! yeah that’s it! And we immediately dumped him into the ocean so nobody can ever ever find him! Because when you finally have the most wanted man in the world, the first order of business is to get rid of him as fast as possible like Seigfreid and Roy magic! ..Yes! So please change the headlines!
I would hope that our mission was to kill him period. No time-consuming, costly trial that would give him a platform to spew his poison. No incarceration that would allow his rabid followers to try to free him directly or abduct Americans and others to use for ransom or barter. Death offers unique finality and closure.
My only real problem with all of this was the supposed Islamic funeral and the 40 minute ceremony. Can anyone imagine such a thing for the Nazis or Tojo or any of the other evil bastards who declared and waged war on the US. As a Navy veteram, I am disgusted that this was performed on a naval vessel. I wonder how the USS Cole sailors would view this.
It is just plain stupid to continually emphasize UBL was not armed when shot, an just too unusual for a WH that micro-manages every uttered phrase.
And does anyone think Obama looked anything but angry when he announced UBL's permanent room temp adjustment?
The UN is now starting to make the charge that we violated UBL's due process rights, so we will soon see who Obama truly cares about.
All of those people celebrating his death are very concerned about whether or not he was armed...NOT!

I suppose you would rather our SEALS wait for him to pull out his firearm, they check the firearm to make sure it is real and loaded, consult some lawyers to determine if it was justifiable, then form a committee to determine the best course of action.

Thank goodness the operative word is "former." I wouldn't want you behind me second guessing......besides, it's not like UBL can give a different account.
Further, if Bin Laden was declared "hostile" he could be shot in the back, while sleeping, or banging a goat; armed, or not. If, as Leon P. stated, the 'authorities' were to kill UBL.... sounds like those authorities were executed.
No offense, but you've gotta be feeling mighty lonely right now. Most Americans are overjoyed that this murdering bastard was killed by our troops.

First of all I get the emotion of wanting OBL blown to bits and fed to pigs. I watched 9/11.
What I’m uneasy about is I can’t find even ONE report that our guys were fired upon. It’s looking like they burst into a house in the middle of the night and shot everybody there. Women, teens, everybody UNARMED? They couldn’t get any intel from anybody? The courier? Wives? OBL? If this is how we operate the John Kerry and Murtha were right.
Or maybe the big powers just didn’t want anybody talking? Osama lived there for 6 years and nobody knew? He felt so at ease that he didn’t change appearance? Didn’t have guards? Just weird...

there seems to be a war between CIA and Obama in this. Notice that Obama took 16 hours to make this decision...much to the dismay of those involved.
He didnt want to do this..and now people are going to pay.

I am really starting to get pissed at these Alex Jones wannabes insulting our Navy SEALS- the best of the best, as being in on some sort of conspiracy with the incompetent and chief. Some of these people are starting to sound like Democrats circa 2001-2008. It makes me wonder if any are Cindy Sheehan or Michael Moore.
Very few on this site are looking at the reality of this.
It will hit them soon enough.
