According to the media-approved version of history, President Bush was evil, beyond salvation. But reason submits that, according to uncensored accounts, Bush 43 was far more tolerant than campaigning journalists gave him credit for.
Arguably, Bush had every right to be angry. From Decision Points comes this underreported insight (page 256):
President Schuster [of Slovakia] had tears in his eyes as he described his nations pride in helping liberate Iraq. I kept that moment in mind when I heard critics allege that America acted unilaterally. The false charge denigrated our allies and p***ed me off.
Another related myth foisted on the American public and the world at large, portrayed Bush as the great Satan, an evil interventionist. The Clinton days, however, were remembered as happy times when America was as solid as Bill and Hills great marriage.
Leaving tribalism aside though, some pacifist-sounding libertarians have questioned this narrative. From The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History by Thomas Woods (page 239):
Clinton helped spread Islamic radicalism into Europe in his anti-Serb campaigns in the Balkans.
Clinton dispatched the military overseas forty-four times during his eight years. The U.S. military had been deployed outside of America only eight times in the previous forty-five years.
Go figure. The path to 9/11 was long indeed.
Without question, interventionism only became a dirty word, when bad Bush the Republican took office...
And what prompted elites to treat a UN resolution as the word of God when one Texan Republican took power?
Heres Bush again, the dumb one, reminding the open thinker of recent history (page 237):
From a legal standpoint, a resolution was unnecessary. Three years earlier, President Clinton and our NATO allies had removed the dictator Slobodan Milosevic [on some very shaky evidence] from power in Serbia without an explicit UN resolution.

Bush got a lot of bad advice from Karl Blove. When people like Hillary Clinton said that Bush lied about WMD he should have said “You looked at the same intelligence that I did and you voted to go to war.” Instead he just sat there and took it.
Well to be fair, its not like we don't do the same when the Dems are in power, regardless of who they are.
W’s enduring mistake was not pushing back in the media. Rove even admitted the strategic mistake. Brack filled the vacuum and where are we now? W really had an obligation to rise from the recount fiasco and pursue a party building agenda. IMHO!
That’s different because Dims really are evil! (actually there are the evil ones like Gore and Kennedy and Valerie Jarrett and then there are simply the cowards who vote for Dims because they think that way the criminals won’t hurt them).
The difference is the 'Rats fight back. Bush sat there and let the lies fly unchallenged.
The crap Bush took does not compare with what was dealt to Clinton.
Bush took it from all sides: media, journalists, dem people, Senators, Congressmen everyone.
Clinton got it from some elements, but not all, from the right
Really? Care to name the Dem Pres. in the last fifty years that wasn't an evil POS?
We don’t have the legacy media’s microphone.
Go along to get along. Please move to another country.
Other nations aren't deceived by the American media. They will check Al Jazera before they look at any thing American. When they do the information is used by them to play both sides of the fence.
If Obama does anther apology tour, he should do it for the media. We know that won't happen as long as they play nicey-nice with him.
“Well to be fair, its not like we don’t do the same when the Dems are in power, regardless of who they are.”
Of course we do. It’s part of the game to keep the people of this country fighting each other so they won’t realize what’s going on but the curtain is lifting.
Your kid was little better.
The problem isn't with your critics, its with your record.
And before I forget, refusing to let engineers from Hong Kong who owned patents and manufacturing businesses emigrate to the United States before the Chinese took over from the Brits was damned stupid. That produced a technological windfall for New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Australia that could have been largely ours.
Meanwhile, Obamathug has blow off the War Powers act and the media has nothing to say about it. When Reagan entered Lebanon the media had a countdown clock that we had to look at every night. The same with both Bushes even though they got Congressional approval.
Has anyone heard a whisper from the “free and open and balanced” fair press?
I blame the republican lead congress.
They should have been his foot soldiers and surrogates.
They were. Why do you think W didn't veto any of the garbage that they produced?
Why blame Rove? W hired him. W outranked him. And W used the same "New Tone" nonsense in Texas that made him such a bad president.
I think he should have stood up for himself more too. The WMD was a distraction issue. He offered many reasons for going. In fact, the far-Left told him not to invade because of WMD!
Speak for yourself. I applauded Obama for helping to take down Osama.
As for the media: Hate, hate, hate Bush. As for Obama: Love, love, love. It is very tribal.
