Palin on 2012: ‘I do have the fire in my belly’
Daly Caller ^ | 5/20/11 | Jeff Poor

However, Palin pointed out there are obstacles to making a run for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, primarily family concerns.

“It’s a matter for me of practical, pragmatic decisions that have to be made,” Palin said. “One is, with a large family, understanding the huge amount of scrutiny and the sacrifices that have to be made on my children’s part in order to see their momma run for president. But yeah the fire in the belly — it is there.”

I would be shocked if she didn’t run. I don’t expect her to officially announce until mid-August, though.

Sounds like no to me. She says “her problem” is that she has the fire in the belly, then goes on to list reasons why she ought not run. IMO, she’s dragging it out and eventually not running, but who knows?

I imagine she's keeping her powder dry and waiting to see the whites of the lame-stream media's eyes.

For maximum effect.

Sarah needs to get in before August if she is, she he high negatives she has to turnaround if she is going to get votes from independents and Reagan Democrats and she needs time to show them that the picture that’s been painted by the Media is not a true one.

She’s doing all the prepping for a run. Of course she’s running.

She's forcing the ruling-class RINOs and state-run media to run around like chickens with their heads cut off by not declaring until the last minute.

Sounds like a winning strategy to me.

No one's even paying attention yet -- certainly not among the people she will need to reach. A mid-August entry still gives her 5 months until the first votes are cast. That's an eternity in politics.

She doesn’t have to impress them until she has impressed enough GOP primary voters!

The one and only problem she has with most Republican voters is electiblity and that is directly tied to her negatives with the Independents. If a Republican ‘Mega’ primary was held today I have no doubts that Sarah wouldn’t walk with it. But if she can’t get her negatives with the Independents turned around and get thier votes we will just end up getting the same results we got in 2008.

I think she’s probably legitimately torn. I don’t think she’s the type who would drag this out and have her supporters beg her to run but I think the family concerns are legitimate. Look what they’re going through without her running.

Comments? Is she or isn't she running?

When I talked with Sarah this morning she told me to pray for her and her family as she makes her decision, so I will.

I don't know if she will run or not, but I'll support her decision.

{Sarah didn't really talk with me today, but if she did, I'm sure she'd ask for our prayers, but you'll knew that}.

If you review the transcript carefully, she slipped and included herself in the list of GOP candidates who can't fall for making responses to bogus media reports.

Other hint: Track just got hitched. Best to get that out of the way as well.

Translation: She's running - Let's not freak out on FR about it, guys.

My guess: Waiting for the tell-all books and the email dump to come and go while most of the other GOP candidates make complete idiots of themselves; quietly get her people in place, then announce. We need to remember that Sarah is like none of the other candidates. In her case, her entire family has to take steps to prepare for this, as we know the opposition will throw out the rule book when it comes to the Palin family.

And after all, at the rate the other GOP candidates are going, she'll end up being drafted to run anyway.

-"electiblity"

That's a fool's argument. Anyone who puts this up for debate is either a fool or trying to make you the fool. They said the same thing about someone else back in 1979.

Her negatives with independents are directly linked to the Media and the Establishment GOP going full tilt 24/7 to marginalize her. If she runs, and starts campaigning and speaking directly to the people sans the media/GOP filter, those negatives will melt away fast, just as they did with Reagan. For too many “independents” their impressions of her are based on lies.

I’m tired from the “Sarah has high negatives” crowd. This is another fiction invented by Onada’s propaganda organs and the pathetic Libertarian clowns here on FR.

She is the only potential Conservative or RINO pubbie candidate taking the heat to Onada and drawing the crowds. My ears and eyes don’t lie.

Given what the demrats and their media usueful idiots did to Sarah’s Downs Syndrome kid, her daughter and the Alaskan demrat notional rape of Gov. Palin, I don’t blame her for thinking long and hard about running. I hope she does, but she will be a formidable influence on whoever gets the pres. candidicy if she doesn’t.

And, since I’m a racist, I like West for pres. or VP for Palin. That said, once the conservative field sorts out I think we’ll have a number of good or better choices.

Well until I read the last line I didn't know for sure you hadn't talked to Sarah. Freepers come in all sizes and from various backgrounds both politically and financially and in many other ways and it wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't more than a couple who regularly talk to Sarah. I bet we would be surprised to know some of the people who regularly read/post here on FR.
