TX governor panders to 'The Race' Chad Groening - OneNewsNow - 7/21/2010 5:20:00 AMThe head of a grassroots borders enforcement organization says it's completely inappropriate for Texas Governor Rick Perry to speak to a radical Hispanic organization that supports granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. The Republican governor recently addressed a crowd of 1,800 members of the National Council of La Raza, which calls itself the largest Hispanic civil rights organization in the United States. Critics, however, point out that La Raza means "The Race," and claim the organization is nothing more than a Hispanic supremacist organization. One of those critics is William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC). "It's completely inappropriate for anybody, much less an elected official, much less a governor of one of our most populous states, to speak to such a racist and Hispanic supremacist group like La Raza," Gheen contends. He also has a serious problem with Perry's statement to the group that he does not support Arizona's get-tough border enforcement law, which is being challenged by the Obama Justice Department. "[President Obama] pretends to care about border security, when in actuality he is a servant of the people [and is] responsible for the opening of our borders, responsible for the flood of illegal immigrants, the invasion of our country," the ALIPAC president laments. "Many of us, myself being one of them, hold him accountable for all the damages that have been caused by illegal immigration because of his faction's open-borders policies." Gheen remarks that it is unfortunate the mainstream media has mostly failed to report on Governor Perry's criticism of the Arizona law, a measure that polls show most Americans support.

As he should be. Perry talks a good game, but he is a RINO at heart.
That may be true, but if we get him on the record on all aspects of this issue, I think the sentiment would be so strong against any straying from that (if he became president) that he'd be tied down by Republicans in the House and Senate.
I am not a huge fan of Perry, but
compared to Romney, Newt, and the rest of JOKES running for President he’s a rock star.

Perry has faulted Obama for reversing the so-called “Mexico City policy” that banned giving federal money to international groups that perform abortions or provide information about abortions. Obama struck down the policy during his first week in office, saying it was too broad and undermined family planning in developing countries.
Under Obama “our federal tax dollars can now be used to fund abortion all over the world. With the stroke of a pen, abortion essentially became a U.S. foreign export,” Perry said.
IMMIGRATION:
Perry adds immigration issues to lawmaker session
Perry wants passage of a measure requiring every person arrested to be run through the federal immigration databases as part of the Secure Communities program. He also wants to provide the state Department of Public Safety with the authority to make sure someone is in the U.S. legally before issuing a driver’s license.
These measures, along with a ban on sanctuary cities, would “provide a clear message that Texas will not turn a blind eye to those breaking our laws,” Perry said in a statement.
“Texas owes it to the brave law enforcement officials, who put their lives on the line every day to protect our families and communities, to give them the discretion they need to adequately do their jobs,” Perry said.

Humorist and entertainer Kinky Friedman, the Jewish independent candidate for governor in the 2006 election, said, “He doesn’t think very differently from the Taliban, does he?” Carole Keeton Strayhorn disagreed with Perry’s comments, and Democrat Chris Bell said that one who is in public office should “respect people of all faiths and denominations”.
Conservatives then responded, arguing that Perry had a right to his religious beliefs, and that he was not disrespecting Americans of other religious convictions.[40] While visiting Israel in August 2009, Perry gave an interview to the Jerusalem Post in which he affirmed his support for Israel from his religious background, “I’m a big believer that this country was given to the people of Israel a long time ago, by God, and that’s ordained.”
ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES:
Perry does not believe there is valid scientific proof of anthropogenic global warming. He has said several times that there is no scientific consensus on the issue.[69] In a September 7, 2007, speech to California Republicans, Perry said, “Virtually every day another scientist leaves the global warming bandwagon. ... But you won’t read about that in the press because they have already invested in one side of the story.”

Reports are the governor will sign Bill HB2510 by June 19th.
Bill HB2510 allows for the manufacture and sale of incandescent light bulbs otherwise banned in federal legislation of 2007, applicable from 1 January 2012 onwards.
The legality, at least in the way the proposed law is framed, has apparently been cleared with the US Attorney General’s office.
The Bill has already passed in both House and Senate with overwhelming support.
While Texas has no current manufacture, relevant parties are being invited to restart it.
Texas has been a leading US state in providing new local jobs, and this is seen as a further contributive measure.

And yet with one stupid move, not passing a strict immigration law similar to Arizona and other states, he voids all of that. Its amazing to me that “the Arizona law is not good for Texas” even though it mirrors the federal law that the feds refuse to enforce. Makes you wonder what kind of immigration law IS good for Texas, according to Perry. I guess, by the looks of it, nothing.
Then Palin needs to learn a bit about Perry.
She was trying to win seats for the best candidates running, not lose them. Perry was the lesser of the evils.
Perry is essentially Obama in whiteface.
Except when he is speaking to La Raza.
Perry’s internatialism is a big problem as is Mittens.
It has to be discussed as to how far he plans to push the Rino globlalist agenda. What is exactly too radical in his mind? Canceling the Nation and our constitution by advancing and/or creating the UN region called “North American Union”? Would he do that to Americans like Bush was working to do and that Obama is working to further?
What about open borders? Perry, like McStain, got loud about the borders at election time, but you would think he’s the president of Mexico and elected by the Mexican people at other times.
LaRaza is a radical, hateful anti-American group that the globalists love because they weaken our country and divide our people in hate. Why is Perry hanging with with these freaks of nature? Why does he not know racism when he sees it or not care about racism?
Any excuse will do but the fact remains she didn’t have to stick herself into a state race but she did with glowing terms. That is her record she has to stand on. It can’t be erased.
If that is all the defense for Perry that one can come up with, Palin endorsed him, then I dont think Perry will be much of a threat. Palin also endorsed Mcain out of respect and loyalty for picking her for vp. You can believe she dosent agree with him on everything. She was helping Perry keep his job, I bet she dosent agree with him on all things either but he was closer to her way of thinking than the others.
She owns her endorsement. It was of her own free will I’m sure. I trust that no one can make her do something she doesn’t believe. According to Palin Perry is tops.

Even if you dismiss that as a youthful indiscretion, you can't do so with his backing of the one of the ultimate phonies, Al Gore, when Perry was not only adult, but middle-aged!
I've said it before, but no committed Christian conservative would ever have backed Rudy Giuliani, or parroted the ridiculous line that Rudy was "the best prepared" to be President, after having held no elective office other than Mayor of the ultra-liberal burg of NYC.
You didn't say anything, what am I supposed to dismiss, demons, the 11 year old Perry attending a funeral that former President Dwight D. Eisenhower, and President JFK were at?
