They report 27% polling as if that means we ALL want someone more moderate than the TEA party suggests... or that the GOP in total are not embracing the TEA party priciples.

Even FOX News (especailly O'Reilly) is reporting this backwards.

Call them and complain!

We need to stop this "winner take all" primary method in GOP primaries. That is how we got McLame and Bob Dole

But it’s his turn and he has an R after his name. Come on people, get with the program. It’s for the good of the party.

State-controlled media wants Willard to be the GOP nominee.

What more do you need to know?

Romney can be nominated with 27 percent because the conservatives are divided again.

At this point it’s Rick Perry’s to loose; outside Palin throwing her hat in the ring.

I don't know of any Tea Party support for Romney, his character flaws are pretty obvious.

What I'm hearing from most people is that they are holding out for the real deal.

>>> Romney LOSING in GOP polls, 73% want someone else

And even more then that want somebody else then the other listed alternatives including Palin and Bachman. So what’s your point? NONE of them has truly caught on.

Perry may see this as an opportunity. Don’t you think?

If Romney becomes the nominee, we voters will have a choice between Obama and his twin.

Boys and girls: We need a CONSERVATIVE!

I see Romney as a serious existential threat to the GOP and I don’t think there’s any reason to underestimate that. By your logic, 80-90% want someone other than any of the other alternatives, however, so I don’t really see what that gets us.

d Palin (who is not even running yet) has 17% and Bachman and all others get 10% or less

I thought I read that Palin and Bachmann both received 17% in the Florida poll.

Romney and Obama are competing for the same minority of liberal voters.

In a three way vote Sarah Palin could defeat them both and get over 50% of the vote.

In a two way election, Sarah Palin would get over 60% against either. Let Romney run as the Democrat he is.

Note to GOP from this TEA Partier:
  1. I will not vote for Mitt Romney, not in the primary, and not ever. If you want my vote in the general election, find another candidate.
  2. My preference would be a candidate who promises to write more vetoes than Grover Cleveland, and plans to start most veto letters with the words, "I can find no authority or warrant for such an act of Congress in the United States. Constitution, …" So far, I don't hear this from any of your candidates, except possibly Ron Paul.

A person cannot flip-flop on core principles, unless they are really core “expediencies”.

His RomneyCare (tm) shows that he does not understand the essential nature of personal liberty nor does he understand rational economics. This is the type of person who would authorize another TARP, just like Bush 43 did.

In that respect, Bush 43 advanced Medicare Part D (the free pills program) for seniors. In my opinion, this is in the same category as ObomaCare (tm) and RomneyCare(tm).

When it came down to crunch time, with both of these people, the answer was big and bigger government. We need a President whose first answer is one that respects the liberty and property of citizens.

(And if any reader sniffs at this, in each of the last three years, American taxpayers donated about $300 billion to charities. So there is plenty of money to fund the needs of those who are truly indigent, if only the right appeal was made to direct the voluntary donation of funds.

A simple approach would be to grant a 100% refundable tax credit for donations to qualified charities. Government would save money because charities like the Salvation Army have far lower overhead and are far more efficient at delivering services to the indigent than government monopoly agencies are. As donations rose to satisfy the level of need, the percent of tax credit could be trimmed back slowly to throttle funding. This is an approach that respects the liberty and property of those who have sufficient income to donate, yet fills the essential needs of the poor. But it does not fill the cravings of power for the brokers in Washington and that is why it has never been proposed.)

How is it possible for a pro abortion, anti gun, socialized medicine, northeast liberal like Romney to even have a chance? How is he any different from Giuliani, apart from not being Italian?

If Romney is nominated then it means we have one party rule in this country, because there will be no philosophical difference between the R's and the D's.

Well, that is exactly what is going to happen if it plays out like it did in 2008. Split conservative primary vote, plus crossover voting from Rats, RINO gets the nomination. It is a recipe for disaster, and about the only chance Obama has to win!
