If anyone has given up the desktop PC for a laptop PC then can you say how that's working out?

I’ve used laptops temporarily but hated it every time.
I have at home for the last 5 years and at work the last year. Works great for me, no problems, takes a lot less space. Plus I can toss it in my gun safe when ever I’m out, hopefully making it less likely to get stolen.
I haven’t used a desktop computer since 2001. My work computer has a dock, but my home computer is a HP touchsmart. The screen can flip around and become a tablet. I love it.
I haven’t used a desktop computer in over five years. have docking stations for all my laptops and they work just fine.
There is no reason not to, save one. Laptop drives fail faster so you need to backup your data off board. That may change if you spend the $ on a ssd, but even then there are some issues. Also check out the reports of mac’s thunderbolt tech, huge throughput and bootable from a raid to boot.
Everyone (adult children, spouse, and myself) in my family has taken to using laptops instead of desktops over the past couple of years. Life is much easier. Can take them anywhere. Easy to take in when repairs are needed. Not so many wires and cords.
I have a large monitor for my laptop witch works for me. I carry my laptop around with me when I go to various work sites and when I get home I connect it to a 19” monitor.
Can’t beat it for convenience, but I agree on the docking station. Must have. They keep making the machines smaller and I really prefer a larger screen for most of the work I do.
Screen size and resolution is good enough for y’all?
I use a lap top, however the only downside is when you need to print, or want to listen to music.

That is my take as well — larger KB and monitor seems to move things and make the interaction a lot smoother.
Most new printers on the market are wireless.
I’ve been a laptop convert for the past 6 years. No desire to switch back.
If anything, I’ve been getting the peripherals to make the laptops more, not less robust. I’ve got an external hd finally, and a proper cooler.
I find it odd that I am spending less for the whole package these days then I spent on my desktop bruiser, and for far more processor power.
I just spent 200 bucks on a close to 2 gig machine with a 75 gig hd. Just doesn’t seem right to me. :p
I have not owned a desktop in years. I use a laptop and a tablet computed and I would not go back to a desktop if it was given to to me.
Do you think that will be true if the laptop isn't moved very much?
Printing is no problem. Ever since I got WiFi, I have had a printer on WiFi also, so no problem to print from laptop, wherever I am in the house. Can even print from my iPhone.
