It's time to kick butt and chew bubble-gum; and I'm all out of bubble-gum.

I have been in what I would call a "Serious Survival Preparation" mode for some time now.

It is apparent that times are getting rough - in a number of ways - and it looks like they are going to be getting rougher and staying that way for a long time to come.

All we can do is prepare as best we can, and to live life to the fullest each day.

There is a time at the beginning where it is important to talk amongst ourselves to motivate and encourage each other. But then one day it is finally time to turn away from the computer and look around our house and in the full length mirror and see what we can do to get ourselves and our situations prepard for what is coming as best as we can.

Like Duke Nukem said... "It's time to kicka** and chew bubblegum; and I'm all outta bubblegum". Well, the bubblegum is the talking part, and I guess I ran out of bubblegum some time ago...

God bless you all, and I wish everyone the best.

Suggestion -—> Go buy some bubblegum for today is NOT the day.

Major league baseball has bought up all the bubble gum and chewing it up a fist size wad at a time. ;-)

This is good to know. As much time as we’ve spent together and as much as I like you, well, I’M NOT SHARING!

With all due respect to the wisdom of Duke Nukem, bubblegum is bad for your teeth.

“They Live” used the line LONG before the Duke Nukem game, and Roddy Piper’s character says it better! Check my tagline.

Big wads of sugary bubblegum is yummy, but not great.

A little piece of sugarless, after eating, cleans your teeth and prevents decay and gum disease. Fasincating, huh?

We worked so hard storing up stuff before Y2K, a bunch of stuff, including supplies. - Then we ate off the stored food for two years when work slowed down. - Then I remembered when I was a kid; and we ate beans and potatoes just about every day, didn’t buy toilet paper (there was the Sears & Roebuck catalog in the outhouse), nor paper napkins, nor paper towels; used cloth towels and handkerchiefs instead of Kleenex.

So, now I’ve simplified our storage and am mostly eliminating the luxury items for the most part. Oh, I’ve graduated to lentils and the like for variety since I got more educated in nutrition. If we SIMPLIFY, it’ll be easier and cheaper, and we still won’t starve.

So true.

Y2K is coming

And nothing happened because it was a technical problem that would occur on a certain date that was easy to identify and to fix. This will be different. It seems that we are now in a downward spiral that will not get better in our life times.

Don't worry. Today is not the day. Probably not tomorrow either. But that day is coming. I am just going to be busy preparing for it is all.

“It seems that we are now in a downward spiral that will not get better in our life times. “

We said the same thing in 1998. If it does happen, hunkering down with your “preps” is the worst strategy. You treat it like a natural disaster. The ability to survive rests on your ability to get out of its way.

I am ready also, and I am not worried, for none will know till that day arrives. Good Days await those who are waiting.

So, after 6 whole months here you’re leaving in order to get into shape? I wish you luck. Being in top physical form is important. I’ve just never seen such an ambiguous Opus from a noob before.
