"The Disappearing Black Middle Class" ran the headline over the Chicago Sun-Times story. And the statistics from the Economic Policy Institute were indeed sobering.
In 2007, best year of the Bush era, white households had a median net worth of $134,280, compared with $13,450 for black households.
By 2009, the median net worth for white households had fallen 24 percent to $97,860. For black households, it had plummeted 83 percent to $2,170, a near wipeout.

Well, Patsy, that's one way to look at it. But in real dollar figures, BO only wiped out $11,280 in average black household net worth whereas he wiped out $36,420 in average enemy household net worth.

the premise blacks will abandon him seems remote, but the facts in the article are some of the most amazing I have read. I knew a lot of blacks worked in govt, but I had no idea the percentages.

Stimulus $$ --> State/local govt --> union employees --> union dues --> donations to Democrats
And direct payments via section 8, food stamps ect as well, and yes administered by the unionized voters of the government.

Blacks will see one of "their own" under siege and in danger of flopping as the 1st black president, and they will turn out for him massively.
In a case like this blacks aren't voting on results, they are voting on racial and identity politics. The black voting block is utterly dysfunctional, and sadly, Hispanics seem to headed in the same direction. Let us hope the success of folks like Rubio and Martinez help stem the tide where Latino voters are concerned. We won't be able to win national elections if we lose the Hispanic voting block the way we do the blacks.
Look, it is not about the winning the majority with blacks ! We just need it to be 75%D to 25%R or if few thousand blacks stay home in places like North Carolina, Florida, Virginia and Ohio, we got the presidency !
