All I see is a red “X.” Thank you for going through the trouble of sharing it. It’s a really nice “X.”

Sorry but the actual first WWW page, while not visually as interesting would have been better. I saw it yesterday. It explained html. Guess I’m just a geek.

I am no expert but I believe that this may be one of the test firings of "Atomic Annie", a 280mm US Army Artillery piece [M65] that could range 13-20 miles. Multiple units were deployed to West Germany and South Korea until replace by low and intermediate range missiles. Before you laugh, it never had to be fired in anger so it did it's job!

A passing thought, since this was the US Army and given that the Navy and Air Force had their nukes, does that leave the Leathernecks as the sole DoD segment of the 1950's without a "Big Bang"?

If you zoom in on the picture all the way, the name “nick risinger” appears. A quick google check shows that he put the picture together from 30,000 + images.

I don't get it. Is it the last page chronologically to have been created?

No, just a joke I believe.

But it does lead to an incredible interactive image of the night sky that was created from something like 30,000 images. At least that's what grandpa jones wrote in comment #12.

I just posted it because I thought it was funny, and figured everyone needed a break from all the negative news.

"No, just a joke I believe."

Yeah, I finally twigged to that, but in doing so I discovered interesting things. The oldest active dot.com is symbolics.com from 1985, and there is such a thing as a .int domain, which I had never heard of. How about that?

And yes, I need a break from all this crap, just like I would need a break from my house falling down around my ears.
