George Will Confronts MSNBC Analyst for Comparing Tea Party to Terrorists
The Blaze ^ | August 8, 2011 | Jonathon M. Seidl

Steve Rattner is a regular guest analyst on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” and a former Obama adviser. Recently he labeled the Tea Party “economic terrorist” for not — in his estimation — playing fair during the debt ceiling negotiations. According to him, it was “unreasonable” for Tea Party congressman not to consider any tax increases, and it was wrong for them to threaten not to raise the debt limit unless such increases were taken off the table.

As the debate continued, Will pulled out his ace in the hole. See, what Rattner failed to realize — or realized but didn’t want to admit — is that there were actually more Democrats in the House that eventually voted against the compromise than Republicans. That point wasn’t lost to Will:

“You do know that 95 House Democrats voted against raising the debt ceiling as compared to only 66 House Republicans. You do know that 26 Democratic Senators voted against raising the debt ceiling?”

That’s not the right point.

The correct point is the Dems had overwhelming majorities in both houses less than 1 year ago. They could have raised taxes any time they wanted. It was THEY who had the power to raise and chose not to raise.

I suspect because The Massiah didn’t want that blot on his record come Nov 2012.

Rattner wasn’t even allowed to answer. The B*tch saw where Will was going and immediately sidetracked the conversation into “entitlements”.

Obama wants to raise taxes now, but in December of 2010 (with that majority) he signed the law extending the Bush Tax Cuts. That was in a lame duck session.

The reality is that the democrats only want to push tax increases as part of some other package to avoid taking the blame. They want a bipartisan tax increase they aren't going to get.

While I'm glad George Will said what he said, I continue to be very impressed with this new group of young tea-party supported congressmen.

Chaffetz, like Jordan and the others was strong, not afraid to take on the liberals and their trash talk, and they all are fully conversant with the facts.

We need to send a second crop of them up to Washington in 2012 along with a conservative President.

Only an observation....but they must be fairly scared to run up these bogus comments almost daily now. I don’t think you can watch twelve minutes of MSNBC without Tea Party and terrorist being used in the same sentence.

Why would anyone want to spend twelve irreplaceable minutes of their life watching MSNBC? Of course, I am biased as we have not owned a television nor watched any television since 2002.

Jordan is one tough SOB. Not one to back down:

“Jim Jordan was raised in Champaign County, Ohio, graduating from Graham High School in 1982, where he was a four-time state champion in wrestling with a career record of 150-1. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin, where he was a two-time NCAA wrestling champion. He later earned a Master’s degree in Education from the Ohio State University and a Law Degree from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.”
