Due to comments he made on this thread, http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2766898/posts Robroys posting priviledges have been revoked. Since he began his membership in 1998 he has made a lot of friends here, many of whom were expecting freepmail once we got to our place in Kentucky. There are also some here who he worked with in the past in the real world. And his only connection to these people now is freerepublic and freepmail.
Therefore, if you would like to stay in touch with him, his "special" new email address is robroysjunk@gmail.com. Its an account he set up separate from all others to preserve anonymity when necessary.
Rob told me, as he likes to say, "two things": 1. He really enjoyed this site, maybe too much and 2. Getting revoked is very much like being a ghost. You are there, but it takes all your mental strength just to push a penny up a door. It's frustrating, so the best thing to do is quit haunting the place.
He really loves analogies and a flawed one seems to have been his undoing.

Strange, but then I don’t know the whole story. My only hope is that FreeRepublic not become politically correct. When, and if, that happens, we might all hear the death knell sounding.
I didn’t plan on posting anything here, but you need to know that he was not warned.
He was revoked with no warning. I believe that was the part that really surprised him. I’ll have to go back to the thread, but I remember the moderator made some comment about his Rob’s “balls” and that was that. I especially remember that word.
I’ll ask him when he gets back from work if there is any more to this. If I remember he only made three or four comments before it happened. It wasn’t much. At least, it wasn’t much for him. He usually takes a long time to get to his point. And sometimes he has a hard time staying on track. Classic ADD. This won’t offend him. We agree on that one.

I just looked. I think he forgot that if you possess it someone was exploited in the process in a foul way.
On some topics, anything more subtle than "Hang them from the highest lamp-post!!!!" or "Kill them all and let God sort them out!!!!!" is beyond many FReepers' comprehension.

wow, I joined in 1998 too. read the thread, kinda weird—sounded like he was defending one’s “right” to have deviant thoughts. this is JR’s playground and it’s his right to boot folks to protect the community interests from even the potential appearance of supporting sexual deviancy.

I was thinking of Crim’s post #26 in the thread in question. I agree that a long-time freeper should have gotten more of a warning over what may have been a poorly-thought-out way of arguing a point.
He’s been around a long, long time, and this seems like a violent over-reaction to someone belaboring a minor point, but it’s also a battle I wouldn’t have bothered to fight, personally. You have to chose your battles. But yes, it might be a positive thing. Sometimes the only way to tear yourself off the computer is to be thrown off, and the times I had no computer at all, I got SO MUCH MORE DONE! I envy you your home in Kentucky. Los Angeles is kind of a bummer sometimes. Good luck to you both!

I forgot to mention that one of the reasons he wanted to contact his friends here is that he is putting together a youtube video of our drive from Seattle to Kentucky. He’s taking pictures whenever he drives around here too, to add some local color. He’ll supply the youtube link to the list of people when it’s done. He really loves his commute.
But with the new job I think it will take him a couple of weeks.
