Yes, I have a list. It has five or six people on it, with whom I’ve never had a reasonable and detached exchange of opinions. Not you, though ;-).
My 14-year-old plays computer games on this machine many evenings, so I miss out on late-night frivolity unless I have a baby who won’t sleep. I’m usually on early and catch some of the before-coffee grumps, including my own!

One of the first detailed discussions I got into on FR was, of course, about Islam (in 2004). I specifically remember Alamo-Girl responding to me about thought crime, even when posting on a PC, via webcam signals. While this concept doesn’t exactly apply here, from a political standpoint, we’re already there. Hasn’t taken too long.
Now, with the installation of (the now invented) retinal detector technologies, our expressions when in public may lead to being detained/arrested. I wonder if that will apply to the controversial subject here or just to political dissent and inclination to physical violence.
Absolutely. The minute someone chimes in with the “woman” argument, I’m outta there. Do you know some creep here told me to take a Midol yesterday? That was after telling another woman she must have her period. I mean what do you say to that stupidity? I seriously think some people are drinking when they write in.
Then again, as you say, you meet some of the most brilliant people here. Wasn’t it a male freeper who outed Dan Rather’s documents as fraudulent? I think so!

I fall into that trap a lot. I imagine it was hard for him to keep quiet once people started calling him names, and suggesting he was guilty of the crimes he was discussing.
Anyway, I don’t mind what people think about me, but I have trouble with people claiming I believe something I don’t.
I’ve always wanted to go there - a cheap but effective ploy. But I hate that stupid argument (as dumb as the women are emotional stuff) and have always held back. I love how you phrased it, though! I’ll keep it in reserve if I get hysterical...er, I mean “desperate.”
I didn’t donate; then I got threatened with a ban, and I thought about being banned, and realised that I would miss the site, and figured if I felt that way about being banned, I aught to contribute at least a little bit.
...and then there’s the “you have PMS” thing that a lot of guys like to sneer. It’s a pity because it reinforces the standard liberal belief that conservative men have no respect for women.
