The most important thing to know about the "death by drone" of Anwar al-Awlaki is that this is really about citizenship and anchor babies. Anwar, America's enemy, is a US citizen by virtue of his Yemeni dad pursuing higher education in the US at the time of Anwar's birth. Anwar was born in New Mexico in April of 1971. That made him a US citizen.
It doesn't matter that he returned to Yemen and that his parents had no intention of ever becoming US citizens while they lived here. What matters is the address of the hospital in which little Anwar screamed his first breath of defiance.
The truly bizarre is yet to follow. We also trained him. He returned to the US for both undergrad and graduate degrees: civil engineering and education, respectively. Later pursuit of a PhD in human resource development at George Washington University fell short.
This "U.S. Citizen" then set about trying to destroy his so-called "home of birth."
What's more, Awlaki's kids and wife are forever tied to the US. His five children, at least some of whom had to have been born in the US before he departed in 2002, finally arrived in Yemen in 2004 with their parents. Those born in the US while he attended school are doubly US citizens since their dad was a citizen.
As one recent discussion put it: "Each of these babies becomes an anchor who retards deportation of unlawfully present parents—and who eventually will be an anchor for entire families and villages as chain migration leads to the immigration of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins." The death of Anwar al-Awlaki is not at all about getting "America's enemy." It really is a discussion about "anchor baby citizenship."

No one wants to "change the 14th Amendment, Mr President. They simply want folks to acknowledge that anti-American terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki's parents weren't "subjects" of the United States. They were Yemenis. Little Anwar wasn't a subject of the US either.

Yes, I know Wiki says that, but it doesn’t mean that she wasn’t a naturalized citizen. After hearing that his mother was a U.S. citizen, I wondered if his father met his mother here while he was at school.

The ACLU wants anchor baby laws to stay the same. They are nuts. If Awlaki doesn’t prove that’s a mistake, then nothing will.
There is also a law on the books that if you take ups arms with a foreign enemy against the USA, that you automatically forfeit and foreswear any claim to any US Citizenship.

It is true, though, that anchor baby law has him being a US citizen by virtue of being born in New Mexico. All the outlets are reporting him as a us citizen.

Is CAIR US citizen too? Why are they still permitted to operate in the US?
I bet a lot of them belonging to CAIR are “Jihadists” too, as there are non-CAIR ones, sworn naturalized US citizens. Even born citizens, with mother and father US citizens.
I find the hang-up with natural born US citizenship fascinating.
Unfortunately, moslems & their “jihadist” wing, in the US, both take immense pride in being US citizens. After all, the freedom in the US has provided them with the opportunity to spread their pro-Islam message.
However, what differentiates them, often, is not much. Except that one provides the propaganda for the other; intentionally or simply out of ignorance. Same goes for their “American or Western” sympathizers & propagandists.

Obviously, an “organization” is not an issue w/out *People* - that’s the issue -—> *People* — CAIR didn’t come into existence yesterday either; CAIR has been operating in the US for yrs.
Point is: Funny that many ordinary people (Americans included) should be finger printed, scanned, prodded, probed, and what not, at borders or traveling within the US.

I wish this had been properly. IMHO, what should have happened is that Anwar should have been tried, in absentia, for treason, convicted and sentenced to death, and then the sentence carried out.
