George Will: Cain not running, but 'strolling' for president
Daily Caller ^ | Oct 16, 2011 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 10/16/2011 12:21:48 PM PDT by Clairity

Despite businessman Herman Cain's stunning rise in the polls, conservative columnist George Will said Sunday that Cain does not merit serious attention from President Obama's reelection campaign.

Will said on ABC's "This Week with Christiane Amanpour" that Cain has not shown that he has staying power and that without a traditional campaign infrastructure, it's not clear that he is a serious candidate.

"We're having a kind of Andy Warhol primary where everybody is leader for 15 minutes and Cain's turn today but it's not clear that Cain has staying power," Will said. "He's not running for president, sort of strolling for president without an infrastructure. It's pretty and cute and nice but whether or not it works we can be doubtful."

Will said that President Obama's campaign strategy will be to go after the Republican candidate because his administration's "record isn't particularly appetizing."

Perry is the only one who has a record of low taxes, small government, low regulations, which created a business friendly environment for job creation for private enterprise. That's why Texas created 40% of all the jobs created in the US, i.e. Texas created almost as many jobs as all the other states put together. Let Obama try to attack that!

Obama will bulldoze down anyone else, including Romney and Cain has no chance.

Perry is an utterly incompetent candidate, who hasn’t shown himself to be serious in his run for the nomination.

I hope to hell we can get an adult elected.

I'm sending Perry $500 in the morning.

” “He’s not running for president, sort of strolling for president “

In other words, he’s not doing the ‘dancing clown’ act that the media demands of Republican Candidates...

I had hopes that Fred Thompson might go this route early in his campaign in ‘08, but he got whipped back into line in fairly short order...

Let’s see one minute you are posting that Cain is the poster boy for Mitt and the insiders, then you post something for an inside the insider guy like George Will thats against Cain so which is it?

One minute he’s tied in with big money deep pockets and the next minute he’s don’t have the money to run, which is it?

Maybe in your illogical mind its both or maybe you just hate Cain so much now that he’s up in the polls that you will just post anything rather you believe it or not.

Mr. Cain could probably snooze his way to victory in any contest where obama was his opponent. Any fair contest, at least.

I am here to get Perry elected. Period. Romney is Obama-Lite and Cain is Romney's spoiler. Read the campaign finance reports and you'll see what I mean. If you want to claim Cain is building campaign infrastructure, please provide proof. Until then, he is Romney's useful idiot, who jokes about electrocuting Mexicans.

What is “adult” about calling 3/4rs of your voter base “heartless”?

“he’s not doing the ‘dancing clown’ act that the media demands of Republican Candidates...”

Actually Cain is doing exactly that — “electric fence, let’s kill them”, then next day: “I was only kidding”.

Anything to detract from the negatives of their own candidate.

Got it ass backwards. Perry is the spoiler

How about instead of continuing the Perry smear attack du jour, you answer the questions about Perry for a change?

Who got in the race last after it was clear Romney was not going to get any appreciable support from social conservatives?

Who did the GOP Establishment push into the race after it seem Tea Party heroine Bachmann was going to upset Romney’s ride to the nomination?

Who does the GOP Establishment see as their back up card if Romney fails?

Who has long standing intimate ties with the Liberal wing of the GOP Establishment?

The answer is Rick Perry.

Bill Kristol to a NY Time Reporter telling him how the GOP Establishment plans to deal with “the Tea party mutiny”

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2792217/posts?page=3

Kristol told me just after Perry entered the race, a development that essentially ended [the more radical Michele] Bachmann’s brief ascent. Establishment Republicans may prefer Romney to Perry, but their assumption is that either man can be counted on to steer the party back toward the broad center next fall, effectively disarming the Tea Party mutiny.

Wonder who Perry will be VP with?

Odd how that question never gets asked of Perry.

Could it be because everyone knows Perry is the GOP Establishment mole in the race to split the Tea Party/Conservative vote and hand the nomination to Romney?

Could it be because they know the ticket the GOP Machine is setting up is “Romney/Perry 2012? Think about it. Romney has the money, Perry has the idolatrous worship from the social Conservatives.

Could that be why the Perry camp is knowingly lying about Cain’s solidly Conservative record on both social and fiscal issues? Because they know full well Perry’s record can not stand close scrutiny?

What does anyone really know about Perry other then the nice words and platitudes he puts in his speeches? Looks like Perry is just Bush 3.0 another tough talking social conservative who will go to DC and be yet another good little GOP crony capitalist water boy.

"George Will: Cain not running, but 'strolling' for president,"

What is George Will really trying to say? Is he saying what I think he's saying, namely that Herman Cain is a lazy, trifling negro? Say it aint so!

"and that without a traditional campaign infrastructure,"

And here is the problem. "Traditional campaign infrastructure politicians".

I don't want it. The government is FULL to capacity with these people and it is THEY who are destroying our country.

We didn't sweep the House in 2010 on "traditional campaign infrastructure", nor will we in 2012.
