TV Girls I Had a Crush On When I Was 15: Jaclyn Smith on 'Charlie's Angels'~

When monster smash hit Charlie's Angels first hit the tube in Fall of '76, I sure didn't have to think long
when anybody asked who my favorite was: Jaclyn Smith - the young actress that played "Kelly Garrett" on the show-
was to me always the
most heavenly Angel, hands down...
This was for reasons I was largely unable to convey to those with Farrah posters in their bedrooms,
back in the days when that one with the red bathing suit was all but ubiquitious.
But the somehow Jaclyn Smith just had a sexy vibe, bit more real/natural-look than Farrah (smile/hair), imho-
plus I guess I just prefer brunettes anyway. To each their own... I'll take this one, no problem lads:
Enjoy your weekend, FReeper patriots-

I prefer blondes or light brown hair but I will be happy to make an exception for Jaclyn.
Now that I think about it, I much preferred Mary Ann to Ginger.

She was definitely my favorite Angel too. Easily the sexiest of the three. However, the hands down sexiest girl on TV back then was Valerie Bertinelli.

The new series, which I have never watched, has been canceled.

No question, Jaclyn Smith is one of the most beautiful women of the baby boomer period.
The only reason — IMHO — that she didn’t break through into the top rank of female stars is that she didn’t do humor quite well enough.
I could be completely wrong about that. She may be terrific at humor, and my observation may be totally off-base. I can think of another reason why she didn’t “break through,” but I won’t say it here.

Ditto on that vote for Jaclyn Smith. By far the best of the Angels.
Also, Pamela Sue Martin from Nancy Drew Mysteries. Rooowr!

I think all 3 of the original “Charlies Angels” were Southern girls. Two from Texas and one from Alabama.

Julie Newmar Julie Newmar's figure was one of the best in the history of Hollywood; only Virginia Mayo and MM (when she was in her 20s) could compete with her in that department, and then only marginally. She's also very smart; too smart, maybe, to really be a great actress. Her father was an engineer, her mother, a Ziegfield girl.
She's about 15 years older than Jaclyn, maybe 20.

Tuesday Weld - The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis
Marta Kristin - Lost in Space

“Now that I think about it, I much preferred Mary Ann to Ginger.”
I’m a rarity - I was a Ginger fan. Mary Ann looked too much like my sister. Ginger however reminded me of the scantly clad girls on the calender in my Dad’s workshop. Hormones won over wholesomeness.

I'm getting really sick and tired of these frivolous posts regarding which female TV stars someone had a crush on! This is a serious political forum.
Oh, and Kate Jackson was the hottest of the Angels!
:-P

If you’re into blondes Fox news is one stop shopping. These blondes appear serious and not too smart. If you put a few drinks in them they probably wouldn’t shut up.

That show must have been a blast to work on. They got some pretty heavy hitters to appear; I think they got them because the show was so much fun.

This is a subject on which it is incredibly easy to wax nostalgic. Let me wander through the beautiful women in the recesses of my mind.
There’s the daughter on The Big Valley
The (older) daughter on Lost In Space
Secret Agent 99
Karen Valentine
Nardo
About a dozen Benny Hill girls
Lieutenant Dish
Jeannie
Samantha
Laurie Patridge
Laura Petrie
Yeoman Janice
...Mmmmm. That’s enough for me. Don’t want to be greedy.

She was probably my biggest teenage crush. I probably watched the movie "Class" about 20 times, wishing I was Andrew McCarthy.
