Herman Cain Backs Off Last Month's Comments that Rick Perry "Insensitive" About Race
Rick Perry Report ^ | Oct 26, 2011 | Joe Hyde

Presidential GOP candidate Herman Cain was in Houston Tuesday to address a Tea Party Rally. While there, Cain went on the Michael Berry radio show. Michael Berry has not endorsed any candidate, but through the years, Berry has been a supporter of Rick Perry as governor.

Berry covered a wide range of issues with Cain, to include race–baiting by the left.

Cain made news for the Perry camp when he backed away from his earlier comments made last month that Rick Perry was insensitive about race. Berry asked him about the alleged rock at Perry's former hunting lease in West Texas. "Oh, you mean THAT rock?" Cain joked.

"I don't think it reflects how Rick Perry feels about black people," Cain said. Hear the entire interview above.

The real question is, will Cain consider being Perry's running mate, or is he all in for Mitt Romney still?

Asking who would be Perry’s running mate is no different than asking any of the other 3rd tier candidates about their running mates.

Nobody cares who Buddy Roemer would choose as a running mate. Nobody cares who Gary Johnson would choose as a running mate
Nobody cares who Rick Perry would choose as a running mate.

Cain was responding to an intentional MSM false premise.

Of course he,like anyone else, retracts after learning the truth.

Non story.

Don’t you realize that the perrybots or perrywinkles that infest FR have an amazing ability to distort reality into huge conspiracies? They believe that Cain is only running as a stalking horse for Romney, and that he should either bow out and let the real conservative, i.e. Perry have his support, or that he’s waiting until he’s gotten the majority of the delegates and he’ll hand them over to Mittens.

Surely you’ve noticed the monotonous multitude of inane postings by these mental midgets, they are legion. If a candidate can be characterized by the quality of thinking of his supporters, then Perry is a lunatic.

Why is FR allowing Perry to post his press releases? If JR is allowing it he should be paid an advertising fee.

Every time I think I can’t dislike Perry any more than I do I surprise myself. This poor excuse for human being has no shame.

Cain is all in for Mitt. On the Piers Morgan interview a couple of weeks ago he was asked who he respected in the race and guess who he picked? That’s right. Romney...the most liberal guy on the stage! Cain’s not serious about running to win, he’s running to place and that’s why I stopped supporting him. I have a lot of misgivings about 9-9-9, but seeing how it’s a virtual impossibility that it would pass I was still supporting Cain, along with Perry, but that interview closed the door for me. He’s a shill for Romney pure and simple.

The blog asked a rational question. Earlier, Cain said he would be happy to support Mitt Romney, but he wouldn’t support Rick Perry. Cain has also said he’d be happy to be Romney’s VP.

Nobody is making that up, they are actual things Cain said. So it is reasonable to ask if Cain would still support Romney but not Perry. I doubt Cain has changed his opinion on that yet, but it’s a fair question to ask.

I don’t think Cain is running to help Romney, at least not now that Cain has miraculously vaulted to the top of the polls. On the other hand, Cain still has yet to make any real attacks on Romney. Even when he claimed he would at the last debate, he didn’t (of course, he was busy defending his own miscues).

But it is clear that Cain has in the past, and continues, to support Romney as a “good choice” for President. That again isn’t something perry supporters made up, it is based on actual statements made by Herman Cain.

target="_blank">The Rick Perry Report is my personal project and I am not paid by, supported by, or even in contact with anyone at the campaign or any PAC. In fact, I bet the campaign and PACs are running scared of me because I am a LOOSE CANON and do not necessarily have to follow the campaign's narrative. I have a talent for developing Web sites, and I like Rick Perry. This is America, and I can put the two together. Consider this my 1st Amendment project. As of the other day, the "hermancainreport.com" domain was available. Feel free to jump right on that.

A quick and easy ways to boost Herman: send me $$omething then “like” him on facebook. The facebook “like” count is the latest measurement of support looked at by Tokyo Rove and his gang. It’s like an ongoing poll.

Unfortunately, Cain continued to say he hadn’t researched the story for over 48 hours. On Sean Hannity the next night, he told Sean he still had no time to find out the whole story.

Totally uncalled-for name calling. You are the first on this thread to become overtly hostile.
