I’m looking forward to the debate. I think it will showcase each guys’ strengths.
Cain and Newt have known each other very well for years and years via many Georgia connections, including the Neil Boortz radio show, where they are both frequent guests and have even guest-hosted. (Cain had his own night time talk show.) Cain and Newt both believe they know the minds of the other man like their own hands. Both believe they have nothing to fear, nothing to lose, and only positive press to gain for a real brain tester, instead of the typical MSM-hosted pseudo debates we’ve seen so far.
Just my dos centavos.
I don't really see a downside for either. They'll be respectful towards each other. I think this is brilliant publicity for the both of them.
(Beavis and Butthead laugh alert)
Heh heh. Obama is going to lost to one of those two.
Heh heh.
You do not win the Presidency by hiding from the voters.
Credibility and respect that he is not afraid to debate anyone respectful enough to enter an exchange in a dialogue of ideas. As said before, the two of them could elevate the overall debate and come away from this as the leaders by being adults rather than petulant children squabbling over who gets the next gold star.
Will this debate be webcast?
Cain better take some No-Dose before the debate or Newt will put him and the audience to sleep.
Oh, Herman.....man, I love ya, but you ain’t no Newt Gingrich when it comes to debating. Debate Romney or Perry or Obama. Them you’d eviscerate. Not Newt.
Good move on both Cain and Newts part....wisdom says it well.
I haven’t watched the David Letterman show for years. I got so tired of hearing him bash George W....non-stop...every night.
Curious to know who he is belittling now, I watched last night. Wouldn’t you know...it’s Herman Cain. Even did a “Top Ten” countdown...if you could stand it...just awful...

There will be a great deal of sanity in this debate.
I look forward to it.
He's thinking it's important to talk about the issues w/o having to share the stage with those two babbling, bantering buffoons Perry and Romney who burn up all the air time.
He’s thinking: I can beat Newt.
If Cain can hang with Newt in a debate and sound reasonable and smart, then he will have done himself a favor. That’s what’s in it for Cain.
Two outcomes IMO.
1. Newt makes Cain look like an amateur with his extensive knowledge and verbal sparring skills. Voters begin to see Cain as unprepared for elected office.
2. Cain holds his own against Newt even though poorly matched in skill sets. Voters get confirmation that Newt and Cain are engaging in a gentlemen’s contest rather than a political mud fight.
Either way Newt wins big in public opinion. Cain takes a big risk.
At one time I was a pretty fair chess player. Played and beat the local city champ many times. Played GM Reshevsky once and lost but not that badly. 40+ moves if IIRC.
My wife and her family are not chess players. Mrs p6 beats me all the time. Not because she’s good...she makes totally illogical move that are not part of any conventional opening and I think things too much.
Newt should beat Cain but who knows?
