A National ID Card For American Citizens? Get Ready – The Real ID Act Goes Into Effect On May 11
End of the American Dream ^ | March1, 2011 | Michael

Posted on 12/01/2011 10:02:54 PM PST by Texas Fossil

For a moment, imagine a future where you are not able to drive a car, get on a plane, get on a train, vote, enter a federal building, open a bank account or get a job without a national ID card. You don't think that could ever happen in America? Well, you might want to brush up on the Real ID Act because it is going to go into effect on May 11, 2011 unless something is done to stop it. When I first learned this, I was absolutely stunned. After all, wasn't the Real ID Act supposed to be "dead"? A few years ago state legislatures across the nation were in an uproar over this law. The Department of Homeland Security was forced to delay implementation of it several times. But now it is back. You see, this is what the federal government often does. They will try to push something very unpopular through, and if they meet resistance they will "play dead" until the uproar has died down and then they will come right back and implement it anyway. This is what is happening with the Real ID Act.

As of May 11, all driver's licenses across the United States will be required to conform to federal national security standards. In essence, our licenses are now going to be federalized.

“Are you REALLY THAT uninformed?”

Inform me. But don’t give me that crap about the sign of the beast... How is being able to identify citizens a bad thing?

You may be correct. But how about an iris scan?

http://www.answers.com/topic/retina-and-iris-scans#ixzz1fMBGocJH

“In contrast to the retinal scanners, iris scanners are of two main types: active and passive. The active system works from 3 to 14 inches and also requires the user to move forward and backwards so the camera is adjusted properly. In contrast the passive system can work over longer distances one to three feet. The main technology developer is Iridian Technologies, which holds the patents to the concepts and technologies involved.”

I must admit the distance from the camera was over 14”, more like 4-5 feet.

I appreciate you input, you seem confident in your answer concerning retina scans. The photo feature contrast on the picture they printed seemed hard. Wonder what they were doing?

I’m not an End Times/mark of beast believer but I absolutely ABHOR and LOATHE any type of national ID, mark, chip, etc. HATE IT!

It’s more government tyranny, control and unconstitutional viciousness ultimately leading to gulags and the killing fields. I have all the IDs I need and I want the government to neither know nor care about me.

The photo was taken from much farther away. There were much brighter flash systems attached.

Unless the DOT has develope new technology this does not sound at all like a retina scan

“I want the government to neither know nor care about me.”

There are over 300 million people in this country. Trust me, they don’t...

a mark ...or in their foreheads

Is the pattern of the retina or the iris not a mark? The eye is certainly in the forehead.

As far as "meds" are concerned, I take none. None at all. But it is obvious that our "perspective" is not the same.

That’s silly... Have you ever been finger printed? Well yes of course you have. They can at times be close to your forehead when you comb your hair. Does that count?

Do you have a cell phone? If you do then somebody knows where you are all the time. I’m sure the government could go to them and they would give it to them. If you don’t gave an approved driver’s license or a passport or some other picture ID you can’t travel.

I have one for Hong Kong. It's mandatory for China and it's SARs. I breeze through immigration by going through a kiosk.

Beijing has a better understanding of how many people make up their population. Where as we just guess with the census.

Pros and cons to the ID card here in the US.

It wont be used to prosecute illegal immigrants here in the US, but to punish US Citizens.

You think standing in line at the DMV is aggravating, wait till you have to go to the DHS for your Real ID.

Just wait until they can get the functionality of a smart phone on a chip small enough to wear under your skin...

I showed some people at work an article about the company that was collecting smart phone data... she didn’t say anything at first and I thought she didn’t get it. After a few minutes out of the blue she said. “That’s really creepy”

Thats exactly it. It is creepy.

It is far more likely that it was a facial recognition scan to determine if you have other driver’s licenses with different identities.

Creepy indeed.

I hate cell phones. At times carry one, but most of the time I don’t.

I love technology, but hate the intrusive tracking.

May go back to HF spectrum. Getting really sick of the negative application of the web.

I am old enough and I might just drop-out of sight for a while. The economic clouds on the horizon have ominous overtones to Big Brother (or Big Sis)

1. The Bible is, to most of us on FR, THE WORD OF GOD. Last I checked, this was STILL a basically Christian website where the Bible is revered and respected and trusted.

2. Some 'Christians' do not believe all of it--as incongruous and cognitively dissonant as that logically is.

3. You've already had the verse quoted to you about the Mark of The Beast. Ignore it at your eternal peril.

4. I've studied globalism for 45 years. The plan to ID folks and to prevent those not marching lock-step with the Marxist/globalist world government has been in the works for a very long time.

5. I was in charge of the university library's Special Collections dept that held the Norman Allderdice Collection. It is now in Berkeley here:

http://www.oac.cdlib.org/view?docId=kt6000265m&view=dsc&style=oac4&dsc.position=7501

6. Some of their plans are asserted in their own words here:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2747532/posts?page=45#45

7. Since OThuga's installment in the Whitehouse, as the Designated Destroyer In Chief, the rush toward the tyrannical Marxist global government on the trashed heaps of the US economy etc. etc. etc. has been accelerated a LOT.

8. Every week some new incremental frog-in-the-bucket move or even a great jump toward the global tyranny is published even in the Main Stream Media. That's because the globalists are increasingly arrogant and brazenly convinced that they CANNOT be stopped at this point. Which is true.

9. The Bible is quite clear that there will be a world government in the same era which sees Israel return to the Holy Land as a Nation in a day--which happened in 1948.

10. Sure, it's good to ID terrorists etc.

11. However, that's a farce. They would create 100 dramatic crises any and every way they could in order to put the sheeple under their heavy black boots every way they can.

12. There's reliable ways for States to handle ID's. The globalists are insisting it be at the FEDERAL levels. They want FEDERAL !!!!CONTROL!!!! of everything. Evidently you haven't been paying attention.

13. We now have laws on the books against food supplements; growing our own food; etc. etc. etc.

14. I wonder if you're even aware that travel has become much more gestapo oriented.

15. I don't know why I bother with such ignorance any more. The handwriting is on every large wall in neon lights. Only the willfully blind are still ignorant.

16. Just for giggles . . .
A) What DO YOU THINK OThuga's demand for a National police force funded as robustly as our military is for?
B) Why does he insist on 'SPREADING THE WEALTH?'

C) Why is there such a rush to crash the USA's standard of living down to the global lowest common denominator?

D) Why is he such a suck-up to Islam?

E) Why is he so intent on defunding so much of our military?
F) Why does he HATE America so and what is he doing with that hate?

G) Why is corporate and legislative, judicial and administrative Federal level corruption so rampant and outrageously extreme and getting worse?

H) Why has the health care system been engineered to facilitate the early deaths of 'useless eaters' when we reach 67 and 70 with any significant illness? It's now FEDERAL law/regulations that such folks be given only 'COMFORTING' medications--NOTHING to cure them. I'm 65, BTW. I assure you the VA system is gearing up accordingly.

I) Why are small business people being taxed, regulated and pressured out of existence?
J) Why are small family farms being bought up, regulated out of existence and generally destroyed?

K) What do abortion, homosexuality, wars, food related disasters and draconian regulations etc. all have in common?

L) Why are the loftier 'public unservants' acting increasingly arrogant . . . or getting out of Dodge while retirement's good and they can still take their ill-gotten millions with them?

M) Why are we being prevented from using our abundant oil, coal and gas reserves?

N) Why has the educational system been turned into a training factory for brainwashed socialist, Marxist robots with not a shred of understanding or knowlege about our Founding Fathers and values?

O) Why has the environmental movement been used so ruthlessly in economic and FREEDOMS RESTRICTING hidiousnesses?

P) Why has music, rap, movies, TV, video games gone over the cliff into extreme degrees, amounts and types of death and destruction themes?

Never mind. Just pretend I'm off my meds. Go back to sleep. Move along. Nothing here. All the above is an irrational rant because I have an intolerable amount of gas.

night night.

Facial Scan? Test for multiple identities?

Now that sounds like a reasonable explanation.

Unfortunately most of the new cars have this technology built in.

Their is a certain segment of the Government and Business community that is hungry to collect meta data on all of us.

Nothing to hide but it is of no use or advantage to me or you to be tracked like an animal.

You want to the give the government even more powers?

This is ridiculous.

The government even banned light bulbs. It will be a crime to use a 100 watt incandescent bulb. Why the stupid government says ? because of the lie of global warming. So they will make us criminals if we use a light bulb. so they force us to use a light-bulb that costs more and has mercury.

Look what the government did with the 9/11 attacks. Now the government is molesting our kids at airports.

Every day governments at all levels increase in power and more laws and regulations are created.

The federal government has millions of pages of laws and regulations. The Obamacare law alone was 3000 pages from which bureaucrats will create 100’s of thousands of pages of regulation's.

We have too many laws. We need less laws , less government , less regulations on us, the citizens here. Now if you want laws just make laws that keep out foreign peoples and things like China products that are de-industrializing the U.S. but leave us the citizens of the U.S.A. alone already with all the FDA’s, EPA’s and controlling what we eat , what we use etc.
