A National ID Card For American Citizens? Get Ready – The Real ID Act Goes Into Effect On May 11
End of the American Dream ^ | March1, 2011 | Michael

Posted on 12/01/2011 10:02:54 PM PST by Texas Fossil

For a moment, imagine a future where you are not able to drive a car, get on a plane, get on a train, vote, enter a federal building, open a bank account or get a job without a national ID card. You don't think that could ever happen in America? Well, you might want to brush up on the Real ID Act because it is going to go into effect on May 11, 2011 unless something is done to stop it. When I first learned this, I was absolutely stunned. After all, wasn't the Real ID Act supposed to be "dead"? A few years ago state legislatures across the nation were in an uproar over this law. The Department of Homeland Security was forced to delay implementation of it several times. But now it is back. You see, this is what the federal government often does. They will try to push something very unpopular through, and if they meet resistance they will "play dead" until the uproar has died down and then they will come right back and implement it anyway. This is what is happening with the Real ID Act.

As of May 11, all driver's licenses across the United States will be required to conform to federal national security standards. In essence, our licenses are now going to be federalized.

Obama's mentor Brzezinski wrote books about, and envisioned a world where a group of Global elites monitor and control the masses with technology.

The recent McCain defense bill is another example of centralized and expanse of power over citizens.

I asked the attendant "did this take my retina scan?" She said yes. (biometric identification)

BWAhahahaha! Did you know the word "gullible" is not actually in the dictionary?

Actually it is for facial-recognition software, not retinal scan. They used to make me leave my eyeglasses on because that was a restriction on my license - "corrective lenses" - but in the past ten years they make me take eyeglasses OFF to get a clean image for facial-recognition.

I suspect the DMV employee was yankin' your chain...

In June, I renewed my DE license. I ignored the requirements for the National ID. Wife did too.

I’m waiting for the first instance where a person is refused permission to board a plane, train or bus. Somebody is going to get hurt.

After input from others here, I concluded it was not what she said.

However, your attempt to mock me about biometric ID methods are a mistake on your part. There is a lot of evidence that efforts to use that technology to “track” and “control” the citizen continues.

I have read too much of the proposed legislation from the Dems and RINOs for you to ever convince me otherwise.

And some here seem to think that anyone that reads Revelations and takes it serious is a nut case. If you really believe that, I am sorry for you.

I have no problem with photo ID’s. And a fair election is one of the key ingredients to a free society. And I know the Fed Gov is contesting the photo ID requirement and the Fed Court has ruled the reapportionment just completed is unacceptable and they redrew the boundaries. Fed Judges did that.

It is a given the the Dems and Obastard do not intend to allow a fair election. Lies are their mode of operation.

All Commies lie, it is the only way they gain and keep power.

Oh yes, of course we must have a National ID to address one tiny issue that could be handled in a narrow focused manner but instead involves an utterly invasive & pervasive institution of a system vital to the imposition of tyranny.

“Where are your papers?” used to be (not long ago) representative of the most brutal communist, fascist & totalitarian governments, something that would be fought against to the death by the majority of patriotic Americans. Now it’s justified by them with “oh, we need that to confirm you’re you for a few minutes a year”.

NY had a fine vote-fraud-stopping system: a copy of your signature at the poll. You sign in, they compare your sig to what’s recorded, done.

But no. You’re OK with legislation which makes your CARD _you_, while “you” without it are a legal non-person subject to incarceration until “things can be sorted out”.

ARGH!

My head is still spinning with the facial recognition/retina technology they're using here in Texas.

Don't need a new DL until Oct. 2013 so, I guess I'm safe for now.

Pros and cons to the ID card here in the US.

If you don't have your ID, you're a non-person subject to detention at any time until suitable paperwork can be obtained (with no sense of urgency).

"Where are your papers" is the core of communism, fascism, and other brutal tyrannies. Requiring ID 24/7 (he11, at all for anything but the most narrow need) is at profound opposition to fundamental American principles.

With a "con" like that, I don't care what the "pro" is.

You are a weird person.

Weird as in "different". Probably. Weird as in CA, no way. And I plead guilty to being a unreconstructed Texan.

Some states have refused to implement the plan but I can’t remember which ones.

Here is the status of states refusing in some fashion the “Real ID” mess.

Thanks. I thought we had rejected it in GA but I was not sure. The whole thing needs to be repealed.

Evidely you are shockingly unaware of the extremely & increasingly brazen global government lurking under the table about to spring full blown overtly onto the world stage.

Evidently you are unaware of the tried and true method of the frog in the bucket.

Evidently you are unaware of creeping incrementalism as a major tool of tyranny.

.

As I understood it then, Fifteen or 20 years or so ago in Taiwan, Taiwan's Nobel Laureate stopped the efforts to put all medical records, passport, ID, driver's info on one comprehensive smart card. This plan has been in the works for decades.

Okay. Then you go on and worry about that for me ...

For me and mine, I’ll worry about things that I have a chance of influencing. Seems to me if God has ordained that the Beast WILL come and WILL impose the MotB as a prelude to the Second Coming/Rapture/Armageddon, there is NOT ONE THING I can do to change that. I also do not recall that God commanded me to to be overly worried about it, or any of it’s precusers! Instead I should rejoice in the knowledge that HIS time is coming! When the appointed time comes, we will recognize the mark and can refuse to bear it. Of course that will mean that those which refuse the mark will be persecuted or outright killed. But that is the choice we have - accept the mark and the reign of the beast, or remain faithful.

Hyperventalating about it is counterproductive. We were commanded to spread HIS word - not to try and prevent HIS will from being done ...
