Ron Paul for President, Are You Freaking kidding Me

Posted on 12/29/2011 10:43:07 AM PST by TheNewPatriot

All you Ron Paul supporters, you are obviously one digit short of a normal IQ or have a single digit IQ. No conservative believes we had anything to do with 911 or believes we brought it on ourselves. Once you step into the realm of 911 being America's fault, you're in the realm of kook ville anti-America rhetoric. I don't want a President that's going to sympathize with our enemies and rationalize it as it must be our fault. We have that already with Obamalama. If you like that, vote for Hussein. Also, being a military veteran, I'm sure as hell not voting for some clueless idiot that denies there's still a threat out there against America and wants to deal with it by dismantling our military. Mr. Paul demonstrates that he has a dangerous and fundamental misunderstanding of the threat posed to every American citizen by radical Islam and the little Hitler running Iran.

Let's also not forget the racist newspaper. Don't even go there with the excuse he had no idea what was being printed. You have to be walking Mr. Magoo not knowing your name is attached to such racist filth. Bottom line, Mr. Paul is many things, but conservative is not one of them and he isn't the answer America is looking for to return to that shinning light on the hill of greatness. Greatness doesn't come from being a pacifist or supporter of leftist social policies.

Do you really think the surrender monkey is? He has been in Washington for over a quarter century. Can you name one thing he has ever done to rein in spending? The only thing he has ever accomplished is acquiring the most earmarks of any candidate running. That is not reining in spending.

No clue. I'm not a Ron Paul supporter, and I've never really paid much attention to him in any tremendous depth, nor do I know his record. All I'm saying if it that if were between Romney and Paul, I'd invariably start peering into investigating the latter as a possible choice.

Already said I’m not a Ron Paul supporter. The tagline should make it obvious enough.

I don’t think that Ron Paul has a chance in hell of getting elected given the political climate that we’re in.

Actually, I've always liked him, and I agree with your assessment. However, his career is as a political campaigner. I like how he adds to the discussion. So I donate money to his campaigns at the start.

Ultimately the President is the CEO and CIC, and chief protector of the Constitution. I really have to ask, which candidate makes the better executive, the executive who must select the people who will carry out the duties of the government? Which candidate has the experience to understand the role of CIC and order the effective direction of the armed forces? Which candidate will respect the limits on government set forth in the Constitution?

I think Candidate Ron Paul falls terribly short as to CEO/CIC experience, but his respect and understanding of the Constitution exceeds all others as much as the Sun outshines the stars.

Civilization is on the edge, and we need a candidate who is the most effective in all of the respects above, not just one. The Democrats have not fielded a candidate with these qualities in the history of my adult life. They seek naked and uncontrolled power to impose their misguided ideal upon us all, and when they achieve it, they are tyrants - and proud of it. We need someone who may successfully oppose this. If we can't achieve this, I fear we will see the fall of the American civilization in my lifetime. Already it may be too late to prevent the catastrophe.

So you have completed your due diligence and read the quotes from the newsletters (a quick search will display several of them) and you believe they are not racist?

Since you must have seen the quotes, don’t you have to wonder why he now calls MLK one of his heroes now when he called him a pedophile in his newsletters?

Don’t you have to wonder why he tries to deny writing those things if they are not racist and offensive?

Are the new marching orders to the Paul cult to defend the newsletter quotes rather than deny he owns them?

This site could become as irrelevant as the GOP establishment.

It's already begun. JR has already said that if Romney wins the nomination, FR will become a third-party site and no longer support Republicans. Ostensibly the same goes for Ron Paul winning the nomination too.

The great thing about a third party is that in 30 years, this conceptual third party MIGHT be able to claim 25% of the voting population, with 25% going to the Republicans and Democrats running the show with the remaining half.

But in the immediate future, we'll see it claim a circle of influence that hovers below the Green Party and barely above the Libertarian Party.

Fun times ahead. We thought income tax rates and spending were high now, wait until Pelosi, Reid, and Obama and their heirs to power run the government with absolutely no real opposition. What may happen in 30 years kind of becomes anticlimactic. It's kind of like wondering if you'll have knee problems in your old age after your legs have just been amputated.

“Well, for one, they’ll support Israel when the pushing and shoving begin. There’s a MASSIVE divide between the candidate I favor and Ron Paul. The primary difference will be the perception that Ahmajinedad has about the global ramifications of his actions if the US is unwilling to support Israel.”

You’re being sarcastic here right? You just forgot to out the “/s” at the end of your statement right? Either that or you’re living in your own little fantasy world. None, and I mean NONE of these RINOs do anything but pressure Israel into more and more concessions (land for peace) with their terrorist neighbors. Do you really think that they’ll line up solidly with Israel when the shooting starts? LOL! They’ll do exactly what they always do when the shooting starts, use every available lever at hand to force the Israeli Army to pull it’s punches and stop hurting those poor little terrorists. Just look what happened the last time Israel invaded southern Lebanon and tell me again why these pathetic excuses for conservatives would do anything different.

Speaking of the Koreas, does President Paul pull troops out of South Korea?

I thought the reason we still have troops in S Korea is that the war stopped due to a negotiated cease-fire. No one surrendered, no one (technically) won.

I agree with every thing that you’ve said and will most likely vote for Ron Paul for those very same reasons. That being said, my assessment of current culture and politics is that the majority of people don’t want an end to the current paradigm of big daddy government handing out candy and providing “protection” to us and the world.

That’s not to say it won’t end, just that it won’t end voluntarily but rather when we have no means to continue with this insanity. We are being given a choice, maybe not the ideal choice but a choice none the less and most people here are firmly in the “let’s continue the government party” camp, even if they do call themselves conservatives.

reading your #45 I can only argue the degree of your result, and only part of that.

Agreed, Paul hasn't a chance in hell of election - but, if he pulled off the nomination we'd be assuring more Obama.

Agreed, there's a pot load of RINOs being offered and probably the most RINO being touted as the for-sure nominee - in an "anyone but Obama" election the GOP is doing it's best to revisit 2008.

As for "frothing at the mouth over Ron Paul" I imagine you have read nearly identical comments made about each of the hopefuls - OK, granted that Crazy isn't so often used - but you need to allow me and others an opinion, and that is, sadly, nuts.

Fact is, if you took a poll of FR, there's NO ONE that even a large minority here is in love with. I like Bachman but she can be pretty zany herself, I like Santorum but he's about as exciting as gravel, I like Newt's brain but he did screw up when he had the chance and deep down I wonder about someone who writes alternative histories, Romney is probably less popular here than is Paul, and the beat goes on.

My real concerns with Paul are:
(a) He gives the other side someone to point at while repeating "see...we told you so". And;
(b) In the event he was actually elected be would havde to rule very much like Obama in order to do any of the things you cited.

This is a good concise ad and article about the issue:

http://www.redstate.com/leon_h_wolf/2011/12/29/the-chickens-of-that-effort-are-coming-home-to-roost/

And if you think a GOP RINO like Huntsman can come up with that, just think what the Rats and media would do if they needed to roll out the racist Ron Paul Newsletters? Ron Paul would lose the electoral votes of ALL 57 states.

so any people who post anything pro-paul have accounts deleted? Sad. Conservatism is about ideas, not just kicking people to the curb when they think 1% differently and agree on 99%

Well, even the Obama admin is moving carriers around as a posturing move, which is, frankly, impossible under a Ron Paul administration.

US Sends Aircraft Carrier Into The Strait Of Hormuz, As Iran Beats Its Chest

Yes, I do believe my preferred candidate would support Israel when, speaking to the point I was making about a nuclear-armed Iran, they perform a preemptive airstrike to eliminate the threat.

While I support nearly every thing Israel does to protect its borders, in this instance, a Lebanon invasion and air strikes into Iran are comparing apples and felafel.

Look, the "little fantasy world" crap tells me I'm arguing with an idiot who is resorting to stooping. I'm done with you. I'm getting a contact buzz. (see how that sounds?)
