Daydreaming about a President Perry
American Thinker ^ | January 5, 2012 | Alicia Colon

Posted on 01/05/2012 2:15:50 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

.....It's too bad that his confrontation with Politico reporter Mike Allen didn't come earlier in the campaign, because "You got a name?" makes a great sound bite on how to treat the left-wing media ambushes. It would also be the way he would probably confront world leaders who are not operating in our best interests -- firm but unwavering. One thing is for certain: a president Perry would not be bowing to any Saudi potentate or any other world leader.

......Frankly, I don't think pragmatism is what is called for at this time. Slash-and-burn is what is needed to reduce our multi-trillion-dollar deficit. When I read on The Drudge Report that Rupert Murdoch was for Rick because he had vision, I thought that he was talking about Perry, not Santorum. It is Perry who wants to reduce the salaries of Congress and send them home packing. It is Perry who wants to eliminate the useless Departments of Energy, Housing, and Education. It is Perry who wants to drill, baby, drill. It is Perry who would never have pulled our soldiers out of Iraq before complete stabilization was in place. It is Perry who has the experience to get this country back on its feet.

There are only two things this country has ever done right, and they are the space program and our military -- both entities that this socialist administration and the Democratic Party gut at every opportunity.

Rick Perry could succeed with his policies only with a strong Tea-Party Congress, which only we can give him.

Yes, I am a daydreamer, but there's something about that handsome coyote-killer that reminds me of Ronnie.

Uh, you have a nasty habit of dictating to others when confronted with facts that get you busted. I’m not your google slave. Get bent. Your the paid Perry spam linky artist, look it up yourself. It’s a matter of public record. Perry is a damned liar about his border security claims and you carry his lies for him.

I have no dog in this fight since I’m voting ABO no matter what. Still, I like Perry and am glad he’s decided to continue with him campaign. He’s a good man and there is a lot about him I find impressive.

Texas Taxpayers would be paying for Perry’s security whether he was here in Texas or running for office.

Why do you criticize Perry for spending money AT ALL on Border Security when it is clearly not Perry, Texas OR Texas Taxpayers who are responsible for securing an International Border?

Why don’t you criticize Obama for NOT spending money on the border security and NOT doing his job?

Why don’t people of none border states send THEIR hard earned Tax dollars down to the border states to help pay for the security of THEIR border and quit blaming Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and Calif for trying to do what they can to secure it and deal with Illegals that our Federal Government will NOT?

IF YOU ARE NOT FROM Texas, Arizona, New Mexico or Calif -
THEN PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS!

Why don’t you criticize Obama for running guns to the cartel?

Border security is a federal responsibility but a Texas problem, and Texas has invested hundreds of millions of state dollars in efforts to support and supplement security forces already in place. Still, this is a problem that will only be solved with more federal accountability and involvement.

Highlights

— Starting in 2005 with Operation Linebacker, the state has sought to provide funding, manpower and equipment to local law enforcement agencies operating along the Texas-Mexico border.

— The state’s latest operation, Border Star, builds on the successes of previous operations with unprecedented local, state and federal law enforcement coordination. With the assistance of the 80th and 81st Legislatures, the State of Texas has been able to appropriate more than $110 million each session to fund and amplify these efforts.

— In response to a rising tide of gang violence in Texas communities, the Governor allocated $4 million in criminal justice grants to cities across the state to increase patrols of gang hotspots. In 2009, Gov. Perry worked to secure more than $10 million in state funding for enhanced anti-gang efforts during the 2010-11 biennium.

— In September 2009, Gov. Perry announced the formation of highly-skilled Ranger Recon Teams — which include Texas Rangers, Texas National Guard Counterdrug forces, Highway Patrol and DPS Aviation assets — in order to address threats building in the unincorporated areas along the Texas-Mexico border.

— Since early 2009, Gov. Perry has repeatedly called on Washington to authorize the deployment of 1,000 Title 32 National Guard soldiers to the Texas-Mexico border to support border security operations currently underway. From your posted link, South: “If Rick Perry was a legitimate conservative (which I always warned he was not) he would have dropped out of the campaign today and endorsed Rick Santorum, Ron Paul—” The writer lost it right there. Truly pathetic.

Game on..

NEWTORUM!!

Willard won’t know what hit him by the end of this month -— the Massachusetts liberal is simply not viable if he loses SC & FL. You just don’t ever win the nom if you lose those two decider states.

P.S. A vote for SINGLE DIGIT Perry is a vote for Romney and anyone with a brain knows that.

I was relaying what I heard some others talking about. I didn’t say that theory was mine! lol! I DID say that I get the feeling he’s another status-quo type, but that’s just my opinion based on what I have seen and heard so far... I never claimed that there was enough evidence to come to concrete conclusions about him. So relax, guys and gals.

Perry actually got in Obamas face and space in Texas awhile back. He tried to hand Obama himself a letter regarding the border. No other candidate has got right up and personal with Obama like Perry did.

There's a lot to be said for physical presence and body language. Perry has it.

This idea that supporting anybody but Candidate X means your supporting Romney was silly when Perry was on top and some of his supporters were claiming that supporting anybody but him meant you supported Romney, and it's just as ridiculous when a Cain supporter is pushing it now.

Anybody who's got the money should stay in it for a while. It's far too early to call the contest. Even if Perry gets 4th place in SC like the polls suggest, I think he should still stay in it.

I don't feel bad that Bachmann dropped - she resorted to some sleazy attacks against Cain and some of the others that caused me to lose a tremendous amount of respect for her. But the others should stay in it.
