When President Barack Obama offers his Jan. 24 State of the Union address, it will mark exactly 1,000 days since the Democrat-controlled U.S. Senate has passed a budget. The Senate has not bothered to pass a budget since April 29, 2009.
The Republican-led House of Representatives passed the Paul Ryan budget that reduced Obamas spending levels by six trillion dollars over the next decade. The Democrat-controlled Senate has not passed a budget in three years," said Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist. "When President Obama tries to blame a do nothing congress for his problems .he is half right. The Democrat Senate has done nothing.
The President should be alarmed that as the economy flounders, Senate Democrats have refused to offer significant budget solutions. A serious joint address to Congress must confront the Senate Democrats abdication of their duties.
President Obama is sure to try to blame Republicans in both chambers for his administrations failed economic policies. However, on the 1,000th day without a Democrat budget, the President will be forced to explain how anyone else is to blame; it is his partys Senate leaders who have ignored their basic Congressional responsibility for almost three years.
A short look back on the fiscal recklessness of the last few years shows that if President Obama is upset about budget hostilities in Washington, he has no one to blame but himself. If he is serious about fixing the ailing economy, the President should demand Senate Democrats get back to work:

Bush’s fault.
every day the GOP should be talking about this and calling the MSM out about it.
Course that is if they had balls and actually wanted a conservative candidate instead of some elitist establishment north east figure.
If I recall correctly, the GOP gave them an out in the spending limit bill. There was a provision in there deeming a budget passed.
If the DemocRATs had an opposition party, it would be a different story. It just makes me ill — and the Repub establishment (such as it is) wants to put another weak, pandering, good ole boy in there that won’t call Obama a SOCIALIST.....God help us.
I don't expect much media coverage nor public outrage, but it will resonate with some voters that are barely politically alive but will begin to pay attention to the elections about this time of the year.
1,000 days without a budget, dirty harry should be drawn and quartered.
Apparently, "no budget" was the plan all along. Eliminate the need for a budget by discrediting that need as a "perception" that the republicans are obstructing it's passage by making unreasonable demands.
That would allow government to assume it's "rightful" roll of bestowing as much cash as needed to the "correct" recipients.
One glaring example is the string of failed "green" startup "investments" where taxpayer cash amounting to Billions has been bestowed, devoid of any responsibility, to the "correct" business owners. I.E. communist agenda democrat supporters.
.
They don’t pass a budget, I don’t see why I should pay the taxes.
No budget no taxes.
If the Republican House leadership had one pair of balls between them all, they’s say, “No State of the Union joint session will be scheduled with the Senate until they pass a budget.”.
Now that’s an idea.
You’re right, no budget, no paying Federal taxes. And if the budget is passed and signed late, the percentage of the year it’s late is the proportion taxes are lowered.
What a momentous occasion. I wish someone would grow a set like Wilson and call hm on it during the speech.
Or get up and walk out.
Seems fair to me. I wonder how long it would take for them to pass a budget if everyone did this.
Tough to figure out how to implement since we have withholding. Everyone becomes 1099 users?
Adjust withholding.
The Senate Dems locked in their budget with the last one they passed. They have no incentive to pass a new one when they can simply CR their way along.
I will make a note to watch something else.
