Its easy to tell when Attorney General Eric Holder is about to take part in another bout of prevarication before a congressional committee. Just look for a Friday night, White House sponsored, Department of Justice document dump.
This time the White House oversaw the release of some 500 redacted emails and other assorted tid-bits, designed as usual to lead House and Senate investigators precisely where the Obama Regime wants them to go in their investigation of the gunwalking Operation Fast and Furious.
And one of those emails makes it clear that Eric Holders DOJ aide, Monty Wilkinson received news of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terrys murder almost immediately after the December 2010 killing had taken place. (1)
Tragic, Winkinson responded to December 15th emails from then Phoenix US Attorney Dennis Burke. Ive alerted the AG, the Acting DAG, Lisa, etc. (1)
And after asking Burke for any additional updates he might come across, Wilkinson received the following The guns found in the desert near the murder [sic] officer connect back to the investigation we were going to talk about they were AK-47s purchased at a Phoenix gun store. (2)
The investigation, Burke referred to was, of course, Fast and Furious.
Naturally this information goes even further in putting the lie to Holders May 4th testimony before Congressman Darrell Issa in which the AG claimed to have heard of Operation F&F only a few weeks earlier.
The question of course is: WHY? Why did the White House authorize, or rather undoubtedly TELL the Department of Justice to make such obviously incriminating documentation public?
Barack Obama is deliberately providing proof of what most already knowEric Holder lied to Darrell Issa. But what does it gain the acting president to make his Attorney General a candidate for a Congressional charge...

That's some pretty good sarcasm...
Holder wasn’t thrown under the bus. The Obama Administration and the MSM are still protecting him. It is just that the few honest people in Congress have finally gotten around to subpoenaing the relevant documents. I’m sure there are still plenty of incriminating documents that have mysteriously gone missing. It’s just that there is only so much lying and perjury that people can commit and still get away with it.
Holder becomes the fall guy for this and Barry gives him a Presidential Pardon after the elections in November.
The other choice they have is Holder does not become the fall guy, and is prosecuted and sent to jail. Before that would happen he would turn on Obama and they would both be in deep sh-t.
This would be a good out for Holder. Pardons are much better than jail or Fort Marcy Park. Another way to look at it is if Obama loses the next election there are no pardons for Holder to be given.
Barack Obama knows that, given the incomparable cowardice of Republican political elites, he could release a DVD of himself and Eric Holder shooting residents at an old ladies home and face nothing more serious than a moderately worded request that they use environmentally friendly ammunition in future!

That is far more likely than what the article suggests (that Obama is trying to one-up the Republicans)
In the internet age, I'm not sure they had a choice. These are e-mails. There is a sender, a receiver, and at least two back-ups.
There are agencies outside the Justice Department that may have had access, and not all departments have been purged of all honest employees. Hardware would have to be destroyed, hardware that's mentioned in the subpoenas.
I think they felt with the fawning media, and their ability to use verbal gymnastics when testifying, that they can talk their way out of this. They have concluded that destroying hardware would be more risky, I would say.
Holder wasnt thrown under the bus.

The wheels on the bus go ‘round and ‘round...all day long. Ping.
But there is another explanation for the behavior of the White House. Republicans have known of Eric Holders perjury for months. House and Senate committee members have listened as Hillary Clinton, Janet Napolitano, FBI head Robert Moeller, Dennis Burke, former Phoenix ATF head Bill Newell and a host of others have lied their way through the proceedings.
Yet not one charge has been leveled against any of the people involved in the Fast and Furious related deaths of hundreds and breaking of countless United States statutes. ...
“Border Patrol Agent Brian Terrys murder”
There were TWO men murdered. And there’s the “third bullet” (0r was is a weapon)’s disappearance.
Why is it so important that we only hear of the 1 now?
One agent was murdered in Mexico, Terry was in the U.S. when he was murdered.
No weapons were recovered from Jaime Zapata’s murder in Mexico so it’s hard to positively connect it to F&F.
A lot of ‘magic thinking’ goin’ on here.
I had thought there was at least one third bullet or weapon that had actually disappeared. Then again, the presence of an agent in Mexico or of any such incursion is an act of war.
That had no relation to the murder of Jaime Zapata and the shooting of his fellow ICE agent Victor Avila.
I should also clarify that ICE agents Zapata and Avila were in Mexico on official business.
There is reason to believe that Agent Terry's BORTAC team knew nothing about the rip crew and the rip crew knew nothing in advance about Agent Terry's team.
FBI Criminal Informant Complicit in Brian Terrys Death (PJM Exclusive)
Previously, Border Patrol Agent Brian Terrys death in Peck Canyon, Arizona was described as a chance meeting that led to a firefight: an illegal alien rip crew working for the Sinaloa cartel was hoping to find other illegal aliens and to rob them at gunpoint. Instead, they stumbled across a Border Patrol unit and murdered Agent Terry.
Last week, the Washington Times offered a new version of the encounter: they reported that the rip crew was not hunting illegals, but Border Patrol teams with the intention of engaging them in combat.
Sources now tell PJ Media that neither version of events is accurate: the rip crew was not waiting for a chance encounter with other illegals, nor did the members intend to engage American law enforcement agents.
The rip crew was in Peck Canyon that evening with the intention of stealing money and drugs from a specific shipment of which they had prior knowledge.
The rip crew knew to be in Peck Canyon that December evening because a CI working for the FBI found out about a smuggling run from the FBI.
A source tells PJM that the FBI knew from wiretaps that the CI was using their information to set up an ambush. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) through its own CIs and communications intercepts was also aware of the planned assault. Neither the DEA nor FBI warned Border Patrol about the expected criminal activity.
Multiple sources tell PJM that this third weapon disappeared because it was the weapon carried by the FBI CI who ran the rip crew. When it was recovered near the scene of the murder and subsequently traced by the ATF, it traced back to the FBI CI via the gun shop in Texas where it was purchased.
Neither agency bothered to warn Border Patrol to keep their BORTAC teams out of Peck Canyon that evening. As a direct result of this FBI and DEA failure combined with Homeland Security forcing BORTAC units to carry less-lethal beanbag rounds in some of their primary weapons Brian Terrys under-armed four-man unit walked into an ambush against a heavily armed rip crew, at least five of whom were carrying rifles.
Brian Terrys murder was entirely preventable. The incompetence of the DEA and FBI let his Border Patrol unit walk into an ambush. After the ambush, it appears the FBI tampered with evidence to cover up that one of their informants was involved with the murder of a federal agent.
