I think the Department of Homeland Security just called me a terrorist. Not only me, but millions of other law-abiding Americans, not to mention Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, George Washington, Samuel Adams, Alexander Hamilton, and Patrick Henry, among others.

Let's not forget under which administration the DHS began.

If one of the RINO presidential candidates wins in November, the DHS will suddenly transform into the good guys again to protect us against the boogeyman Muslims, according to many "conservatives".

Also I'd never heard of, or paid attention to a YAGB (Yet Another Government Bureaucracy) called Bureau of Justice Assistance. (head shaking...)

In short, it seems that "We are all criminals and terrorists" is more than hyperbole any more.

Very good point. GW created the DHS by Executive Order 13228 of October 8, 2001. No one should have the power vested in that agency.

Ever wonder why this was done instead of actually securing our borders and giving those in charge of immigration what is needed for timely and accurately assessments?

Quite a monster was created when we allowed our ELECTED officials to pass off law making to NON-ELECTED departments/agencies. I bet the Founders would have something very interesting to say about that also.
