On February 7th, Coach is Right posted a story reporting John Boehner was involved in an under-the-table negotiation with Attorney General Eric Holder to arrange a mutually acceptable conclusion to the Congressional investigation of Operation Fast and Furious. (1)
Originally broken by Mike Vanderboegh on his Sipsey Street Irregulars website, it was reported that the Department of Justice would provide Boehner and Republicans the heads of DOJ higher-ups Lanny Breuer and Jason Weinstein along with assorted minor players and in return, the GOP would drop House and Senate committee investigations, giving Eric Holder and Barack Obama a pass on their involvement in the gunwalking scheme. (2)
Since this story first broke on February 3rd, dozens, perhaps hundreds of sites across the internet have picked up the articles originally published on Sipsey Street, Coach is Right and Western Journalism. CiR and WJ have been inundated with comments, many taking offense at the accusations of imminent betrayal lodged against Speaker Boehner.
The Congressmans office phone has apparently rung off the hook with questions about the veracity of the report. Naturally the allegations were denied.
Today David Workman and David Codrea of the Gun Rights Examiner weighed in, Workman claiming the story presented by Coach is Right to be pure fiction and Codrea, both a friend and associate of Mike Vanderboegh, taking more a wait and see approach, knowing that Vanderboeghs sources are both well informed and eminently trustworthy in their ability to appraise conditions and goings-on in the Capital. No need to watch Boehner. We’ve sussed out his actions...
1. He’ll say something sounding vaguely conservative.
2. He’ll capitulate.
3. He’ll say something sounding vaguely conservative.
4. He’ll capitulate.
Between those steps, he’s unsuccessfully looking for some b*lls.
3. Hell say something sounding vaguely conservative.
4. Hell capitulate.
5. then he’ll start crying...
Boner is such a failure as Speaker. Just as bad in his own way as Nutsy Peeloosley was during her time there but it all boils down to this......POLITICIANS will ALWAYS cover for other politicians no matter what party, no matter what crimes have been committed. They’re all just alike!
Their biggest problem is how to convince their constituents they are a real alternative to the democrats, when its becoming more clear by the day they aren't and never will be.
If that is true then Boehner deserves nothing less than hanging for high treason. Tar and feathering is far to light a punishment for such treachery.
Certain republicans have been crucified by members of both parties for not being 'team players'.
I guess we'll find out when / if Holder is canned and arrested.
Us "watching" sen. "boner" is really gonna make a difference!
It never has....and it never will.
mutually acceptable conclusion
Acceptable to everyone but you and me.
So these bloggers are claiming victory because their made-up stories are probably false?
“And the blogosphere has indeed been reporting stories the MSM will not...”
Apparently so, and not to your credit, Mr. Blogger.
“Thats why the ‘new media’ must make a difference. And over the last 10 days, it’s just possible that we did.”
Yes you did. Your credibility is circling the drain and you’ve made your compatriots look bad, but you got a few more hits on your website so that makes it okay. You can take comfort in the fact that even See BS News is more honest than you are on this topic.
Boehner = Epic Fail
Regardless of the source so far it’s nothing but rumors. As in the Clinton days I still maintain that “anonymous source” = no source.
You’re right about that skeeter. I’ve said before the true Conservatives are so low in number it’s like they’re not even there. I can name at least 3 from our area that walk the Conservative walk and one day I hope the voters will elevate them and make their voices heard by the voters in this country . They’re out there.
I wouln’t trust Boehner to take my garbage cans to the curb.
