Six pro-life demonstrators were arrested for holding a prayer vigil on the sidewalk outside the White House earlier this week. All were released after paying a ransom of $100 apiece.
One of the arrestees, Fr. Denis Wilde, the Associate Director of Priests for Life, pointed out the disparities between how his small protest was handled when compared to the police response to the Occupy Wall Street protest. “Occupy Wall Street protesters have been occupying federal property for months, but when we kneel in prayer, the police are called in and we are arrested,” Father Wilde complained.
Spokesman for the Capitol Police, Amir Kalid, maintained that “there is no animus against these people. We don’t hate Catholics. But let me point out that they have their own places of worship they can use to pray. They have no inherent right to pray on the sidewalks. The sidewalks are public places and there is a separation of church and state in this country. Keeping them clear of unwarranted activities is our duty.”
“As far as any claimed disparities between these and other protesters goes, officers were merely following orders,” Kalid added. “We can only speculate as to the reasons why some are allowed and others are not.”
Former President Jimmy Carter attempted to answer Kalid’s speculation, by pointing out that “Catholics are clearly a minority, while Occupy Wall Street represents 99% of the population. Perhaps this is a sufficient explanation for how Capitol Police are instructed to handle these different groups.”

so... two parks near the white house are filled with illegal campers, squatters defacating in public and criminals but a few people praying get jammed by the “police”..

A clever and knowledgeable analyst once determined that OVER 200 DIFFERENT POLICE AUTHORITIES had some degree of jurisdiction in DC depending on time of day, place, and orientation to the celestial central spot.

It's a recurring problem.
Remember when Hillary's boyfriend, Vince Foster, got murdered and the Park Police took over the investigation. There were at least 25 police authorities with greater jurisdiction who were passed over to give it to them.
That one isn't over yet. And that wasn't even DC, just a hunk of federal government owned land in a sort of highway buffer zone between the Potomac River and some CIA outpost or other.
They have no inherent right to pray on the sidewalks. The sidewalks are public places and there is a separation of church and state in this country.Sadly this mentality is not wholly unrealistic.
Clinton fired the head of the FBI just before Foster was “suicided” so there would be no one from the FBI to argue jurisdiction.
Louis Freeh was named the new head of the FBI several hours before Foster’s body was found.
Still wouldn’t have mattered. The Park Police were already on the job ~ and had primary jurisdiction. But there were many other federal agencies with police forces that also had jurisdiction over the piece of ground where he was found.
You are the master of satire. It is unfortunate that I’m raising my children in a time when I have to double check articles to see if they are yours. In this case it’s satire, but in so many other cases it is real.

True quite literally the Fort Marcy Park Rangers on their bicycles took over a murder investigation...
What was missed by most was that the message by the Clintoon Administration was IF we CAN murder the Asst Attorney General of the United States?.....
