Vito "Billy Jack" Giacalone, the so-called "gambling czar" of the Detroit LCN, has died at 88 as reported by Robert Snell for The Detroit News: "a 1992 IRS document concluded Giacalone 'remains one of the prime suspects in the 1975 disappearance of former Teamsters leader James R. Hoffa.'"
Hoffa "told a relative on the day he disappeared that he was meeting Anthony Giacalone, Vito Giacalones brother, at the Machus Red Fox restaurant in Bloomfield Township" as reported by CBS News. Anthony or "Tony Jack" was a capo within the Detroit Mafia, and he "died of cancer in 2001 while awaiting trial on 14 criminal charges, including racketeering, conspiracy and extortion."
Marvin Elkind, a former gangster who got his underworld start at the age of 18 as the driver for Jimmy Hoffa and later become a government informant, said last year that the one-time Teamsters boss "is resting at the Renaissance Center Hotel, in the concrete, in Detroit, Michigan."

Guido...Get out our best wine....
I there much of a need for a Mob in Detroit anymore? I guess maybe someone could control the the scrap copper racket from abandoned buildings.
I see a bulldozer in Geraldo's future.
I don’t think he died. I think he was enrolled into the witness protection program under Eric Holder’s Justice Department...
No way. The Late Jimmy’s remains are distributed about the country in millions of piles of rotting dog poo, Jimmy having been interred and processed at a Detroit area rendering plant.
They’re involved in gambling, loan-sharking, drug smuggling via Canada and labor racketeering. It’s an interesting crew—very stable compared to other cities. They number a few dozen made guys, most of them related in one way or another, and have connections to the Genovese family in New York, as well as the Chicago Outfit. The Detroit Partnership (as it’s known) also supplies gunmen to Chicago and New York when they want an out-of-towner to do some work.
OK. I was trying to drum up some business for Geraldo. Maybe mitt will somehow get a vote out of him in Michigan.
Thus we learned that Jimmy Hoffa will always be a cornerstone in the Teamsters organization.
Good one!
In the city, probably not. All the drugs and prostitution are controled by the blacks there. In the suburbs is where the the mafia probably runs its business
Think about it, all the activities that the old school mafia families used to make their monies on have been taken over by the government: Alcohol, tobacco, numbers, gambling.......LOL!
All you need to do is find a pile of dog poo. Rendering plants work wonders with bodies. I know because, many long years ago in the early years of my practice I represented a Detroit (Really !!) area rendering plant. One of those plants can reduce any body, bones and all, to pure mush that’s then turned into dog food.
Don't tell me - that's what dog food is made of?
Keep your dog Happy with Hoffa Hamburger? Really?
Vito, say hello to Uncle Teddy from Massghanistan.
Oh, and by the way, Vito, get used to the smell of burning sulphur.
Now that you mention it, how true! And don't forget their strong-armed tactics by their hit men, the IRS, and the loan shark penaltie$ with being late. And their capo - the liberal judges who make their own rules. And their thirst for power - backstabbing to bring their opponent down. US Gov't=American Mafia? And taxpayers are their union who pay their salaries and dues.
Another reason to vote for the union buster - NEWT, the WeThePeople candidate - who the union officials - the GOP E and Obama enterprise/media want to bring down.
True fact: About 25 years ago or so the Jack in the Box restaurant chain was a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ralston-Purina corporation.
