Are we too dumb to vote?
The Orange County Register ^ | 3-12-2012 | Mark Landsbaum

Be warned: This column probably will offend just about everyone.

We start with news of offensive research at Cornell University. Researchers have challenged the assumption that most citizens can recognize the best political candidate when they see him. . .

Is it any wonder that the candidate who will emerge as president will be no better than a pig in a poke?

The fact that you expect blog hits for it is offensive enough.

No hits for you.

Yes, many of us are. I give you Odumbo as definitive evidence. You could also use Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Charlie Rangel, Cynthia McKinney instead. The Founding Fathers knew many people are too stupid to vote. That’s why they limited the vote to white, land owning males. I wouldn’t suggest we try and go back to that today but there’s needs to be some qualification besides warm and breathing (and not even that in many Democrat districts).

“...It’s because incompetent people are incapable to judge the competence of others ...”

I believe the original theory was incompetent people were incapable of recognizing their own incompetence.

My guess is that communists believed what CU thinks they have recently discovered and that only a select few are capable of engaging in predictive reasoning. Of course the more socialist they are, the better they are at picking the leaders :/

You cannot be smart and be a democrat...

UNLESS........

You became a democrat to get in on the graft.. OR
Benefit from the corruption... machine politics... and obscene perks..

That’s what “liberal” means: TOO DUMB TO VOTE (but they’ll vote anyway and probably more than once)

“That’s why they limited the vote to white, land owning males.”

No, the Founders did NOT do that. That is a liberal lie.

Yep. “Like” button then show comments in order by ‘like’ totals from highest to lowest. This also encourages people not to make stupid comments. LOL!

Well, Hell, yeah, most Americans are too dumb to vote. As evidence I offer the Democratic Party.

There should be requirements to be allowed to vote.

A landowner (land valued at least 25% of the average)
or
A military veteran

No person who receives public assistance should be allowed to vote. That leads to bums voting for bigger handouts.

To be president you should be required to have served in the military.

The idea that someone could rise to commander in chief and not be a veteran is repugnant to me!

I could make the same argument (without the deragatory commentary) about anyone who gets a government paycheck.

Large percentages of Americans regard the four remaining Republican presidential candidates unfavorably, according to a Washington Post/ABC News poll last week. That, in the words of a Post reporter, is “a sobering reminder for the party that the extended primary season has damaged the brand.”
”Debates” moderated by “objective journalists” who are distinguishable from “liberals” only by their job titles wouldn’t have anything to do with it, now would they?

Well, I guess it would be more accurate to say that only land owning white males, for the most part, could vote at the tinme and the Founding Fathers didn’t see any reason to change it. At least they didn’t put it in the Constitution or Bill of Right.

Draw your own conclusions: A majority of those who voted, voted for obama.
