More on why Republicans should not waste time courting Hispanics or African Americans

Republican candidates for President, take heed: Do not waste time and energy campaigning to Hispanics or African Americans. Their minds are made up; and their candidate is Barack Hussein Obama: PERIOD.

New information clearly indicates that neither of these voting blocs is interested in even helping themselves out of the hole they’re in, let alone help America regain our position as the world’s leading economic power.

They are so invested in Obama that their own unemployment numbers mean nothing to them – “Blame everything on Bush – Obama’s the man!”

Not long ago African Americans were told their unemployment had gone DOWN by more than 2%! That a claim like that didn’t squared with reality meant nothing to Black Americans. They will vote for Obama because he is Black, just ask Samuel L. Jackson a man who has probably not been out of work except by choice for many years.

Today Black unemployment is at 14.1%. Since the U-6 number (the sum of all those unemployed and under employed) for all American workers is 14.9%, or roughly double the 7.3% unemployment rate for White workers, it’s probably fair to say the U-6 for Blacks could be as high as 28%! Nevertheless, “It’s Bush’s fault! Brother Obama’s my man!”

The Hispanic unemployment rate is not as bad, but still markedly higher than what it is for White workers.

Even as the Obama Administration is busy making up unemployment numbers trying to fool at least some dummies, Hispanic unemployment has climbed to where it is almost 2 ½ points higher than the national average.

Black unemployment is almost 6 points higher than the rest of the country. Nevertheless, as with African Americans, Hispanics are poised to vote the same way – “I’m voting for the brother!”

Yet both voting blocs want...

You could not be more wrong.
George H.W. Bush did very well with Hispanic/Latino voters and it saved him.

Also? Fast and Furious was a brutal sacrifice of Mexican lives, as Cannon Fodder, to advance the Holder/Obama anti-gun agenda, by forcing a Treaty with Mexico to restrict our gun rights.

Most Hispanic Americans are not even aware of this fact.

I am working hard to produce a Spanish Language attack ad, to explain this point to them.

You NEVER win elections by telling entire groups of people NOT to vote for you.

Suppression of the minority voters who can't vote our way, but refuse to vote for Obama, is important as well.

It’s a matter of pride. Most would rather live (poorly) in denial that admit the “first black POTUS” is an utter failure. And it’s way easier to blame Bush, although no one can explain how it’s gotten WORSE. I would accept the answer if it just stayed the same, but it’s not.

Furthermore, the hypocrisy is ridiculous when I distinctly remember some people who was ready to hang Bush/Cheney when gas prices went up for what, a few months? Now, these SAME PEOPLE say it’s out of the President’s control.

Insane.

No one can see this.

It’s not political to them - it’s racial.

Genuine Republicans want to do what’s best for America. RINOs try nearly as hard as representatives of the Democratic [sic] party to pander to fake identity groups.

Anyone who votes based on skin and anyone who campaigns based on skin tone is being a racist. The premise of the article is correct.

He is wrong about Hispanics.

I live and work in the barrio. Most of the people that I am around every day are immigrants from Mexico.

As one lady in the grocery line put it when I mentioned food prices going up, “Well, that’s Obamanomics”.

Pubbies don’t need to pander to Hispanics. Just don’t insult them.

No, I am not advocating amnesty.

One of my close acquaintances, who was brought in by swimming the Rio Grande when she was nine years old (now a legal resident), told me recently, “It’s time to build a fence on the border. The Zetas are killing tens of thousands of people from Central America. Build the fence so that this will stop”.

The author is right about leftist, Latino “leaders”, not the people.

Pandering to skin color is one thing, but a Republican candidate damned well better campaign in black and Hispanic areas. It's pure foolishness not to.

Losing just 2% of the black vote would cause the Dems to lose every election.

The article is spot on. The Republican Party is the party of ordinary hard-working Americans regardless of race, color or creed. It is not and must not become a coalition of racial minority groups using politics to further thier racialist aspirations. That party already exists: they are called Democrats. Those who identify with race before country may go to them. We don’t need them.

Lets say the republicans double their share of the black vote(an unlikely event). That would give them less than 2 of 10 as compared to less than 1 of 10. Whatever resources were used would be wasted. Now doubling the Hispanic vote would be worth the effort but that is also an unlikely event.

Either way, white men elect presidents and that is where the resources should go. JMHO.

I agree, the GOP GOTV effort would be much better directed at productive working citizens of every race.

This is not 1980. The demographics of this country will not allow for such myopia. We have to reach out to minorities, even if it is largely a waste of time. But doing so should not be pandering, but speaking truth to ignorance and finding common ground.

George H.W. Bush did very well with Hispanic/Latino voters and it saved him.

Did you mean Bush I or Bush II. If you meant Bush II then you must remember his promise of "a new America"? One where we can ALL forget OUR ethnic heritage and simply become another hispanic country...?

THE "NEW AMERICAN"
..........<

We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.

Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.

For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.

Our future cannot be separated from the future of Latin America.

As I speak, we are celebrating the success of democracy in Mexico.

George Bush from a campaign speech in Miami, August 2000.

You can read the speech here.

Here is an excerpt of a good critique of that speech:

In equating our intimate historic bonds to our mother country and to Canada with our ties to Mexico, W. shows a staggering ignorance of the civilizational facts of life. The reason we are so close to Britain and Canada is that we share with them a common historical culture, language, literature, and legal system, as well as similar standards of behavior, expectations of public officials, and so on. My Bush Epiphany By Lawrence Auster

The only reason GW didn't get his "new America" is because of 9-11.
