What good willed soldiers thought up the idea of allowing an enemy into the NATO camp? WTF? And where was the sense then?

There is also another pressing issue between Turkey and NATO.Turkey is one of five European nations that continue to house U.S. tactical nuclear weapons allocated for NATO.There are 90 B-61 nuclear weapons at Incirlik Air Base. Each of these bombs have a yield of 340 kilotons each. The NATO leadership at Brussels feel that the nuclear weapons sharing program hold a symbol of alliance cohesion and a demonstration of how the United States and NATO have committed to defending each other in the event of an attack. Removal of the nuclear weapons according to the “brilliant”(/sarc) generals and politicians in Brussels it would undermine the cohesion and raise questions about Washington committal to NATO and its allies

Turkey was a key part of the NATO strategy during the Cold War, since they were uniquely positioned to increase our strike capability into the heart of the Soviet Union.

Excellent answer, thank you.

It should have been limited to a brief rental.

Here’s what Generals had to say vs the utterances of you pussies:

“We owe the escape of thousands of United Nations troops out of a certain encirclement to the heroism of the Turkish soldiers. The Turkish soldiers in Korea have added a new and unforgettable page of honor to the customs and legends of heroism of the Turkish nation.” - Emanuel Shinwell - U.K. Minister of Defense

“The heroic soldiers of a heroic nation, you have saved the Eighth Army and the IX’th Army Crops from encirclement and the 2nd Division from destruction. I came here today to thank you on behalf of the United Nations Army.” - General Walton H. Walker, Commander, Eighth Army

“The Turks are the hero of heroes. There is no impossibility for the Turkish Brigade.” - General Douglas MacArthur - United Nations Forces Commander in Chief

Excuse me, do you think it’s acceptable on FR to call people such names?
