The video linked is a must see, it's the first infomercial I've ever seen on the Fox News Channel.

This is SOP for Government Motors.
Remember the gas engines they retrofitted to diesel in the early 'eighties? They were 20,000 mile engines. And when they failed, it was the owner's fault.

The non-recall recall is instead referred to as a customer satisfaction action which is designed to "offer a more consistent charging experience." "Instead of occasionally catching fire, they will now not catch fire that often ... or always catch fire ... I'm PR, I don't understand this technical stuff"

The non-recall recall is instead referred to as a customer satisfaction actionIt is a little confusing. I guess the buyers are more satisfied if their charging cord sets their garage on fire less often. :-)

The owners’ fault?
I thought these people were so smart, you know, buying “SmartCars” and all that.
I own a large, powerful SUV, so they must be at least 37 times smarter than me. Right?

Given that, categorically, every single owner of a Chevy Volt is a blithering idiot, it seems like a sensible strategy to blame them for all of it’s woes.
To: jazusamo
I send all these Volt stuff to a guy I know who bought one...seldom get any response - - wonder why ;-)

Yep, it’s the owners fault but Government Motors is going to replace 9,500 charging cords out of the kindness of their heart. Sure they are, I wonder how many lawsuits they already have against them?

LOL... Wow... I'm beginning to think I'm living in the former Soviet Union with all this friggin communist propaganda.
Listen... I will NEVER own a volt and since obomba's GM stole all my stock in the company when he took office I will NEVER own another GM product. I don't care it does somersaults, flies or orally messages my loins 24 hours a day.
I am a GM man from way back that has now turned my back on GM. Ford has always been considered a piece of junk in our homes but now... After Toyota and Honda I would own a Ford in a heartbeat before a GM product.
I wonder how much of my money went into producing that ridiculous infomercial?
To: E. Pluribus Unum
Back when "In Search of Excellence" was the thing, I read/saw/heard Tom whatshisname tell a story about Coleman having a problem with handles falling off coolers.
All the corporate lackeys are proposing all sorts of ridiculous things, and "old man Coleman says, 'just fix the problem with the handles, and after you do, take care of the customers with the bad coolers.'"

You’re going to need the warmth that Volt fire provides given all the coal fired utility plants are being shut down. So whose the smarty now? LOL

The good thing is that since they have sold so few Volts, they will not have to ship out many free power cords!
