Weeks of one-sided stories pushed by professional agitators like Al Sharpton have had an effect on public opinion. Last weekend, (3/25-3/26) CNN conducted a poll which showed 73% of adults believed Trayvon Martin's shooter George Zimmerman should be arrested. Now a new poll by WPA opinion dynamics finds that number has dropped sharply in just the last few days:
Our poll conducted Tuesday and Wednesday revealed that just 48% of Americans believe he should be arrested. Our poll matched the partisan distribution of the CNN poll, so this is a real and significant change in opinion as more key details came out over a few brief days. In addition to matching the partisan distribution, the WPA poll used the same language CNN had used previously: Based on what you have read or heard about this incident, do you think the police should or should not arrest George Zimmerman for shooting Trayvon Martin?
Should 48%
Should Not 16%
Unsure 36%
What this shows is the effect of telling Zimmerman's side of the story....

Unsure 36%
have no idea what’s going on
If Zimmerman wanted to shoot him straight out, I'm sure he had the opportunity. It's not what this was about...and I'd sure like to know what Tray had in his pockets.
Once the recent photos and background of the victim were released by the Brits, things went the other way. It not getting the traction the Liberals were hoping for. Thank you Daily Mail.
More like they are afraid of being called a racist.
48% is still very high
The truth takes awhile to get out there with the current media situation. The lie is already half way around the world before the truth has its pants on.
I wonder what the poll results would be if only blacks were asked? Upper 90% most likely.
If I were Zimmerman, I would beg to be arrested ONLY if the trial were shown live on Black Entertainment Network (BET). Otherwise, he will live the rest of his life looking over his shoulder.
If Martin had managed to kill Zimmerman instead, would he have been caught? There were witnesses, but did anyone see him well enough to give a description to the police (who were already on their way)? If not, he could have gone back to Miami and possibly gotten away with it...at least until he bragged one time too many about killing a cracker.
What do you expect. More than 48% have IQs that are below average.
I saw Trayvon® on the cover of the latest People magazine while standing in line at the grocery store. Naturally, they used a years-old "pre-thug" photo.
oy.
I’d like to see a poll on how many Americans would like to see Al Sharpton arrested for inciting a riot. That would be interesting......
And those living in Lake Wobegon
And those living in Lake Wobegon
Hispanics a bit more
Whites in 105 to 110 range
Some Orientals...Certain Chinese... Japs....some Koreans...a few points above White mean
Its there....we all know it....we ignore it now but the ramifications are reflected as a major contributor to cultural decline
This myth of sameness could destroy the West and us as the shared culture nation we are
Albeit enabled by high IQ whites and Asians who ashamed of being blessed
Voluntary self destruction of a superior cultural notion which has been this country since our noble founders is a bitter play to watch unfold and leave our kids
We are bound to become an oligarchic brown polyglot like Brasil...ungovernable....perilous....with the very rich living protected as in a state of war unable to venture outside safe zones
Sorta like Chicago or Memphis
It is more than 48%.
More like 75%.
Well at least, unlike the Sharpton brigades, they are willing to admit they don’t know enough about the case.
But I’d count “unsure” as “against arrest” anyway. Assuming most people would want to be pretty sure before arresting somebody...
