Former Congressman Maurice Hinchey from upstate New York was a target of the mob during the 1980s when he was a State Assembly member investigating its "illegal dumping of toxic waste at landfills," and the politician resorted to his Second Amendment remedy to protect himself as reported by Brian Tumulty for the Ithaca Journal:

"Hinchey began carrying a pistol because he was advised by law enforcement authorities they couldn't guarantee round-the-clock protection from a possible hit by organized crime. "My life was being threatened and the operation in Albany told me I should begin carrying my own gun," Hinchey recalled. He still has a handgun permit and owns more than one pistol.:

CCW, guaranteed 24 hr protection.

I bet it would work for the whole of the population too!

Two sentences? That’s the best you can do??

Guess you don’t really have anything to say. Moving on.

Bad blog. Two sentences are not enough. A little outrage, perhaps? Showing multiple occasions when Hinchey voted against OUR possession of firearms?

Maurice Dunlea Hinchey (born October 27, 1938), is the U.S. Representative for New York’s 22nd congressional district (formerly the 26th district), serving since 1993. He is a member of the.....wait for it......Democratic Party.

NY Democrat, now there’s a slim chance I could be mistaken, but I think that pretty much sums up his thoughts on the most important amendment.

If you need more.....

Throughout his career he was considered a political progressive for his liberal stands on other issues.

He’s a self-avowed socialist.
